Maybe an odd request, but I'd love to see some old school RPG type figures, I've heard it called "chibi" style? Very rounded and exaggerated features, huge eyes and spiky hairstyles, cute and cartoon like, like from old Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Zelda and more recently the Zenonia games. I've had some success making my own from Fimo but handmaking each one is a pain in the backside and I'm never completely happy with the results owing to my complete lack of talent. Generic hero types, male and female and some chibi style monsters would be awesome too! Or am I just odd wanting my RPG sessions and wargames to look cute?
Chibi's would get a vote from me! They seem all the rage at the moment!
I'm not familiar with the word "chibi" but I think it corresponds to what I'm looking for too. Could someone post a few pictures so that I could be sure of the exact meaning of that word.
Thanks
never heard the word Chibi either..and I have been playing RPG's since 1982...I am presuming you mean the old RQ style figures or some of the original D&D ones?
Look for Super Dungeon Explore.

I think he's talking of japanese 16bit game console (genesis, super famico) rpg video games. Basically, big head, small bodies, big eyes. Sometimes called "super deformed" style (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a specialist).

Ah you are more than likely right..I reckon I misread it
Going by the descriptions of spiky hair, I'd agree with the Final Fantasy/Street Fighter style Japanese stuff is what is meant. Old School RPG to those of us of a certain age conjures images of Larry Elmore art.
But in other news Chibi I think is meant to mean childlike or cute or something, such as the Great Old One himself, Cthulhu in chibi form! (If the link works)

Well, it takes all sorts!
Looks to be "Heroquest" for the manga generation.
Personally I'd prefer some more "realistic" fantasy stuff rather than these cutesy types - but maybe that's just me?
The newer Pendraken stuff - Late Romans, Mongols and the soon to be released WW1 stuff as examples - makes the fantasy stuff look rather crude by comparison. There again I'm up to my armpits in unpainted GW Warmaster armies so maybe I should keep my opinions to myself :)
This idea sickens me. It is perverted - and not in a good way.
As a collector of Anime DVD`s, and as an admirer of the amazingly beautiful rpg rules and world "Anima" I think the idea sounds kinda cool :)
Would love to see it done, but somehow I don`t think 10mm is really a realistic consideration :(
