I think we're members, so I've applied to join the Yahoo Group. We'll be seeing Mr Ede-Borrett for a drink before Salute I'd assume, so I'll ask about something in Arquebusier as well.

Guild Wars 2 https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum
The VBCW forum: vbcf.freeforums.org (http://vbcf.freeforums.org)

I've added the other two, is this one more RPG oriented?

Hmmm. How about Angel barracks? (http://angelbarracks.forumup.comAngel barracks)

Edit: and maybe the historical warmaster yahoo group? Don't know if they like advertisment though!
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/historical-warmaster/
Its a MMORPG game Leon, just like World of Warcraft but with no monthly fees. For any MMO fans in the audience Tera goes free to play next Tuesday, well worth a letch I mean look, it took a lot of flak at launch because of all the skin the female characters were displaying.

Apologies for missing this post, there's a 'Register' link underneath the 'A Very British Civil War' header image, which opens up the registration boxes below.

www.steve-dean.co.uk
there's a forum attached to it where all painting/sculpting/product reviews etc are posted - also, there's the Playground where 'other stuff happens', but it's not as frequented as much now as it once was.
The Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers (SOTCW) have a forum at http://sotcw.punbb-hosting.com/ (http://sotcw.punbb-hosting.com/) and a Yahoo group at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/SOTCW/ (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/SOTCW/).
Thanks for that, we're members of the SOTCW Yahoo Group, but I'll have a look at the forum as well. The first round of Smoggy promo will be coming early next week I think.
I've gone through and joined the majority of these forums now, so I'll start getting some Smoggy promo done in the next couple of days. The only ones I had trouble with were:
- The Gamers Guild - Won't accept the email address?
- General de Brigade - Requires Yuku signup, Yuku don't like me for some reason?!
- Gentleman's Wargames Parlour - Same as above, Yuku ain't having it.
Hi Leon just notice that

Do you have many English visitors to the Acolytes site?
:-\
Not really, only spanish language people. Do you want I make the smoggy promo in spanish? I could translate the post you made in the specialist.
Or if you prefere to post yourself, I could edit it and translate your message.

If you could do it in Spanish, that would be fantastic, but I don't think many of your Spanish members would be coming all the way to Middlesbrough!
;D
who knows, no one know who is lurking out there...

Hi
Got an unpleasant shock this morning (no, it was not the mirror :D) opened up my Yahoo Groups page and I'd been conscripted without warning to the Yahoo Neo Groups.
Looked pretty, only problems were I couldn't access 75% of my groups and the ones I could see I couldn't do anything with, like read messages, see files, post messages, etc. Oh and every group that I could see that had anything to do with games had a generic graphic of various sports balls. Looked like lots of white space for ads as well.
They asked for feedback and they certainly got it - I'm not called GrumpyOldMan because of misguided humour!!. Basically it went along the lines of it being polite to ask before dragooning someone into an experiment, carrying out basic testing procedures before going live and please take note of my photo - I am not a guinea pig!!
Fortunately they seemed to be paying attention, if not to me specifically then the thousands that have complained before me and I was switched back to the 'old' system.
So you have been warned, if it happens to you complain long and loudly.
Cheers
GrumpyOldMan
Ooops I seem to have accidentaly joined TMP, and lets just say that my 1st post is a doozy, should start fur and feathers flying, honest constable I've only had two vodkas.

The database that it uses can't do a backup while it's running, so once a day the database is shut down while the backup runs.
Hopefully this is one of the things that will get dealt with in the upgrade that is planned.

Who me ? ;)

I'm just trying to get stifled.

That's what I got too.
Never really posted much on any other wargaming forum. Only the Total War Center forums and they're about the computer games - and not sure if they have a rule against promoting stuff for sale there. Their historical discussion sections are quite good, but not much use for promoting figure sales.
EDIT people who've tried Warband rules could try posting in this section of their forum maybe (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?52-Other-Games&s=e72a0d5252d5b8345b295a78b5802166)
Yes, sadly it died and hasn't been restarted. No reason why, just defunct :(
I think the Old Guard, wedded to Yahoo! euthanised it in it's sleep...

The SOTCW has been trying to wean people off the Yahoo group and ono the forum for years. Even though the forum is active and the group isn't, lots of people refuse to move. Don't know why.
I have been thinking about making the move for my 3mm yahoo group, but a lot of the members only only get an email if the post is marked as special . I think most of the group members just dip in and out when needed and the way its setup means a lot less work for me then an actual forum
