Title: Kutuzov 1943
Post by: Kiwidave on 20 January 2013, 10:48:32 PM
Finally got around to doing a write-up of a game I had in October last year:

Thanks lads :)

One day I'll develop some sort of tactical ability, rather than relying on luck and a belief that my troops are all invulnerable.....

Nik: When have I ever rushed things? :)

I'm toying with the idea of splitting the trench sections lengthways, so they'll take up less room on the table (and I'll get double the length I  can put on the table), but I'm not sure if it'll look as good...thoughts?

Terrific looking game, Dave. Nice terrain. But did I spot an unpainted tank in one of those pics?  :o

Yep - didn't have enough SU-122s so used an unpainted SU-100. If you look hard enough the KV-1s are actually IS-2 hulls with T34 turrets. Also, the church isn't finished, nor are the minefields. And we occasionally left bits of paper on the table as well...I expect a call from the gaming police any time soon.

As it was played at a mate's place, this didn't matter. I'd rather get games in (they are few enough as it is) with proxied and unpainted figures, that wait for the eon it takes me to buy and paint stuff.

If it was at show, I'd make the effort (or pick a scenario where I had the right stuff).

Hi Kiwidave

Really nice battle report I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. By the way I also like your World War II Germans and Russians very nicely painted.

Thanks

Andy

Now that's not a bad idea y'know...it won't look quite as good, but that's a great idea mate  8)
