Title: WW1 Poses
Post by: Martyn on 16 January 2013, 09:06:45 PM
Hi Pendraken
I have noticed that over the years there has been requests for extra poses in particular prone figures. Can you give those of us who are interested any guidance as to if there are any plans for these and if so when. Either way it would be good to know. Next year marks the 100 years since the beginning of the war and for those of us who are interested in putting games at whatever level it would be good to know if the extra poses are going to be produced. Yes or no answer would be good enough.

regards

Martyn

We are going to be adding quite a bit to the WW1 ranges ready for 2014, but at the moment we haven't had chance to sit down and get a list sorted.  When we do, we'll be trying to get as many of the requests in as possible, and I'll post the list up here as soon as we've got it done.

Many thanks for the reply and the list would be good just so we can see what you have planned.

Prone figures are highly necessary for WW1.

Please don't forget the Eastern Front in this. Could do with some more Russians, and an armoured train for the RCW.

Just picked up Through the mud and the blood by Two Fat Lardies ready for my WW1 project later in the year and the additions to the WW1 figure range gets a big thumbs up from me  :)

Would there be any re-sculpting of the existing figures? I'm particularly thinking of some of the figures in the Middle East particularly the German Colonial infantry and Arab infantry. Ta v much!

Some more Russians would indeed come in handy for my Tannenberg project.....

A Prone Lewis gunner and loader and a sniper would be nice. I think they they have already been asked for? but another nudge might not go a miss.

We'll be running through all the WW1 requests over the next couple of weeks and working out how many of them we can fit into the range extension.

A gem of a range that went very quiet.

If there might be new WW1 poses , would it be possible for three Russian adv pose figures in greatcoat , one in peaked cap , fur hat and Budenkova.
These figures would also be suitable for the revolution period and back of beyond style games.

Also I would like to see new poses across the WW1 ranges.

Any news on the future increase in the range for the WW1?

We're just finishing off the lists for the designer, so once they're done, we'll post them up here as well.

About to complete my WWI earlier Austro-Hungarians and then get cracking on the Russians. I will be using the Square Bashing rules, for which a higher command base is a necessity. The Austro-Hungarians have a higher command pack, but alas not so the Russians. With plate A in the Osprey book dedicated to higher command there must be some inspiration there.

Having reread this thread I'd like to second the Russians in greatcoat other than in fur cap.

I am not sure if there is already a figure in the range, but could we have a British Infantry figure 1916+ with a small diamond or square on his back/ backpack for representing the reflective squares some wore at the Battle of the Somme?...One figure only is needed

Hi Leon
The masters look great. Can you tell me when you are likely to have them available for purchase.

kind regards

martyn

PS the Holt Artillery tractor looks just great. Could go well with a revamped WW1 middle east range???

I've had a quick chat with Dave about the WW1 stuff tonight, and it looks like we'll have something before the end of the year.  The only outstanding ranges in the release queue are the Nap Bavarians, the Ancient Spanish, and the upcoming Mongols.  The Naps will be up in the next day or so, the Spanish can come along in October, and then we should be free for some WW1's either in November or as a mid-month release somewhere possibly.
