What reference should I use for a french officer ?

FFL4 French Foreign Legion Officer is not bad for that figure

Hi

You could use the Foreign Legion figure but be aware it has neck cloth. The WW1 Senior command http://www.pendraken.co.uk/F16-p4025/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/F16-p4025/) has a similarly dressed figure but in a very static pose. The French artillery officer (a giant of a man) has an adrian helmet and the WW1 Italian officer (also with adrian helmet) could be used in a pinch.
