Title: Man down
Post by: Leon on 01 January 2013, 12:54:09 AM
Well, for the 3rd year running, Santa was kind enough to bring me a virus, so I am just starting my 5th day in bed, with no end in sight.  Apologies to anyone who has sent an email/order since Boxing Day, I'll be getting on to them as soon as i'm able to.

:(

Thanks for all the custom and support over 2012, and Happy New Year to you all.

Well after an emergency doctor call out at 5am this morning, I've now got a course of antibiotics to get me back on my feet.  Hopefully they do the trick, cos I've lost over a week's worth of work now, and there's going to be a fair old pile up when I get back down the unit!

Hmm, sick too heh.  Over here, one after the other has succumbed in the last weeks, I was last, and it wasn't all that bad as the others, as if I got a diluted version or something, just a few days out of action, in the middle of my holiday, sadly enough.  Hope you get well soon, Leon.  And as Nick says, don't overdo it, these things have got to get out of your system again.

Hold up, hold up... When I'm in charge  <) I wouldn't have all the Pensioners arrested and hung in the town square for using more cash than was originally expected and are pushing up the Pension age (and possibly ending public pensions all together) just the ones over the 'expected' age limit. And even then, I would be a corrupt dictator!!! I can defiantly take Tec, JFO and Herts, off the list, don't worry! Jesus what do you guys take me for fair! :d

Since Pension age was set at avearge life expectancy in 1904? (well sumat like that), and for men it was 65yrs and 6mnths, with women just over 60, might be a tad harsh......

Since insurance mortality tables show that, on average, women live four years longer than men, there's something amiss there.  :-\

But things have changed -

There used to be a high percentage chance of Women dying in child birth, and the wore long skirts in houses heated with open fires, causing the obvious conflagtaions.

Lloyd-George who introduced the pensions was a pretend Welshman - hence prudent - even more so than Gordon Brown........

As far as I'm concerned, I should not have to pay for the fact that they were wrong with the estimates. I'm certainly not going to pay into something and then be told I'm not getting my share back.

I also love the way the Chancellor is enforcing this work based pension... I wonder why? Is it do they can go "whoops no more cash, soz mate, that money you paid is had gone, good thing we got that work based pensions, that was a luckey coincidence!"

And yet my Wife's grandparents and all there 75-95 yr old mate say its us lazy youths that has messed Britan up...  I left school and have worked ever since. I think what they did during WW2 was famtastic*, but Sorry old man that there ain't any Nazis for me to punch in the face, does not mean I ain't helping Britan out!

Rant done!

* Although when I ask "WW2 what did you do, fly spirfire/ hurricane, tank crew, infantry, Lancaster?" The Respons so far "Sat in India, nothing happens" "WRAF, nothing happened" and other such boring tales.

Now if you can just get these reinforcements shifted up to the front lines, there's a good chap.
