You wonder why I've been quiet recently Techno?
Work in PROGRESS :D!
I've been trying to get these finished, while fighting off Nora and two different flavours of cold which totally knocked me out! :-& Plus my daughter's 8th birthday on Boxing Day, Xmas and the other daughter who won't sleep, I'm not going to make my New Year's Eve deadline, as we're off to see family later...
Just wanted to post something worthwhile for number 2499!

These will be the Guards Guides

Tried to get all the piping right, Bonnets de Police are a nightmare!

The Guards Zoaves are in the background too, along with Guards Chasseus A Chevel. There is also a battery of Guard Artillery and Mitrilleuse, plus a Battery of each variety of line artillery to suppliment my forces for the 1870 Campaign. ;D Ignore the Prussian Uhlans on the flank! ;)
Hope to get these done and dusted in the next few days!
Er - WORK FASTER....
Hope NOVO has finished.

That's what I like to see - a man so committed to painting 10mm that he's doing it in-between up-chucking ;) :d
Nicely done ML - looking forward to seeing these finished 8)
Great stuff Lemmey !!
Cheers - Phil.
Trip to rellies cancelled! :( Daughter v upset. :'( Wife and other daughter got an hours's extra kip! :D I've got two sets of paint and inks (canteens in steel and blanket rolls & busbys in dark grey, both black washed) done on these so far today! ;D
Sympathies on the sickness front Lemmey as we have only had the colds, thankfully no Noro though! Wife now had a cold for 3 weeks and completely fed up, which is pretty understandable.
I share your pain regarding the piping for the bonnets de police. I went for more of an impressionist look rather than a pointillist reproduction. In other words, if it didn't look wonky at arms length without my glasses then it passed muster.
You are hereby awarded the Légion d'Honneur, mon Général, for devotion to duty. In 10mm, of course. :D
Nice job Lemmey they look great...i like that period to :-\ nooooooo i must resist :d
Bases just need flock, standards are finished (Bees in 10mm, yuck!)
Some stands will be used tonight proxying in to a French corps Corps as I'm a Division short for the multi corps game, battle report over the weekend! ;)
Just noticed I'm in the wrong area, would the Moderator kindly move this to Late 19th Century folder? D'oh! I REALLY must have been ill when I started this topic :o
And now they are finished.

Guards Zouaves (from Grenadier Division) ACW figures and scracth built Eagle!
Very nice once more, very nice 8)
Really nice, those big bases look very good.
I'm not completely sure about the white strip with the unit name on - after seeing the in game photos - it really stands out a lot. It may be a bit late to change, but a more subdued background might help?
After 3.5 Corps of Prussians, 2.5 corps of French, definitely too late!
Next time I wouldn't bother, but it does make identifying routed units in the campaign so much easier! :P
Looking gorgeous!
Are the zouaves wearing santa hats? (just couldn't resist ;D )
I did think that on Xmas eve as I was painting them... ;D ;D ;D

It's all a bit of a compromise, I think. When you have 20 - 30 units on the table, all in the same uniforms, some form of easy identifier is vital. ~X(
Very nice
take care
Andy
I like them a lot! Got to start this period one day :-\
They are looking very good and have inspired me to get cracking again after a fair while away from mid/late-C19th.
When's the first game .... And where?
Guards grenadiers being painted at this moment.
As to games, let me know too!
