Title: I wish they wouldn't change the clocks !!
Post by: Techno on 03 November 2012, 10:56:40 AM
Just as a matter of interest guys....
Does the Forum think ?.......

We should leave the clocks alone....and not 'gain an hour'....then 'lose an hour' at particular times of the year.
Drives me totally spare...and takes my 'body clock' at least two weeks to adjust.

Wonderful...I get to wake up when there's now a bit of light in the sky now....
BUT....The animals we've got don't take any notice of the change...Soooooo....
Now..Instead of the dogs shouting to be let out at 6 a.m....They want to be let out at 5 a.m.

I HATE THE CLOCKS CHANGING !!

Rant over !

(And I think the next topic will be the 5,000th for the forum...)

Cheers - Mr Grumpy.

Definitely agree!  As to animals...  The twins are completely out of synch: later to bed, but 'still' waking at (6/)5:30!   :'(

Youngest daughter's not much better  :(  (Eldest daughter already went to bed too late and got up too early so no change there though  ;) )

Cheers!

They did try not changing the clocks back in the eighties I seem to recall. The main problem was the kids going to school in the dark. Rather dangerous, it was decided.

November has a huge spike in motorcycle accidents as fuckwit car drivers are unable to cope with changes

Yup !....I can appreciate real youngsters are effectively the same as pets regarding this.

Do you know....I don't remember that at all Ray...
I can certainly get my head around the concept of the safety aspect....but does it really make that much difference ?
I want a vote !
Which reminds me of a phrase I heard on the TV recently....
"Hands up all those who want to abolish democracy !" ;) ;D

Actually it took place between 27 October 1968 to 31 October 1971 when the time remained at GMT + 1 all year.

I'd say leave at +1, it wuz the Scots who insisted on reverting. Since Mr Big Fish is taking them out of the Union we can ignore em even more.

They could leave it as GMT (Winter Time), then the kiddies would be safe walking to school. Also it would be nice and dark in the evenings when I'm trying to sleep for my early start at work.
Trouble with GMT would be I'd have to get up even earlier on summer Sundays because on my days off I'm a bird ringer and we start one hour before sunrise. That would mean getting up at 2am   :o

Agree, the +1 is a good idea for the kiddies (insert JS joke here), but leave it at +1!
