On the Falkland's, I was hoping to have the next batch of releases done last week, but time got the better of me, so the rest of the Brits and the first 14 codes of Argies will be hitting the website on Thursday this week!

My SAS are feeling a bit bored with no Argentinians to attack. also need the Helemeted brits to finish off my PARA'S/Marines and Guards Bn's cant find small enough to do the gurkha's. ;D The left over Bereted figures are going to star a 10mm U.N.I.T. (Who can deputise for Brig L.S.?) :-\ and then start off a 10mm BAOR force.
As you can tell not had a lot to do the past 2 months but paint lots of figures. Once painted and based Photo op for Photo's possibly Para's fighting up the original Tumbledown(I've even managed to sneak a bit off sand for the bases oooh Falklands Island figures with original F/I sand) :o

Sean

does br6 have an officer that could look like Brigadier L.S. seen him in both peaked cap and beret wearing the old officer no2 uniform, and in the field a raincoat, combat jacket and the good old Jumper Green.
cheers
Sean
Hi Folks,
Is there another Pendraken model that looks similar to the WWII German 15cm s.FH18 gun?
Thanks

I wouldn't think they'd suit, no. If you've got some pics of the look you're after, we can see if there's anything in the ranges.

Not really, but you could use the top from the Russian 76mm (code SV61), and put it on the base from the German PAK 43 gun (code GR133)? It looks OK when we've just done it at this end!

Roll on Thursday all being well :D A dilemma im going through is the L4A2 (bren). If i recall from an earlier topic its not in the pipeline and was thinking of converting FLB10 by snipping a bit off the end and adding the upright magazine obviously not a firing pose and was wondering would the VM32 French para, LMG cahatellerault FM24/29 be a close match as well. Im currently reading an Argentine book called Los Chicos De La Guerra (English version) and most of the accounts mention the Ghurkhas leading the battles chopping off heads followed by the Brits coming up behind them ??? Just wondering if the Argentine FN-FAL H/B (heavy barrel) will be released but that wont be a hard conversion bi-pod on end of a standard FN-FAL.

Ot use the gun from the Hummel SPG (GR50) to put on the base from the PaK 43. You'd need to make the hydraulic cylinders that are a feature of this gun though. As a bonus, the chassis from the Hummel with the PaK 43 gun will do as a Nashorn tank hunter.
Gran76 you could convert FLB09 by just adding the curved mag and the belt layer could be converted to holding a curved mag waiting to service the gun this would give you the firing pose

LBS... He will be in my next set of DW models mate!
Can't beat that guy ;)
Sean - mag on a L4 is striaght, the body is much slimer, so it's a no go to convert. Used to carry one every other weekend.

That's a night out in Liverpool for you! :P

The 30 round 7.62 mag for the LMG is not straight. It has a slight bend to accomodate the combined taper of the 30 cases on the spring. I carried one 24/7. The SLR 20 rd mag is straight and would fit at a pinch (indeed many TA and cadet units did use the 20 rd mag in their LMGs) and some "real" men even loaded the 30rd mag to their SLR ! Until they had stoppages caused by the lack of power in the 30 rd spring, as the LMG loads with the the assistance of gravity.
If a 10mm Para .303 Bren gunner is cast with weapon in a clean mounting, it would be possible to convert to by a little gentle carving. Or better still remove the .303 mag and add a 7.62 mag in plastic card. I have not seen the WW2 para figure, but it might pass muster if you tweak the 37 pattern ammo pouches. Actually when I think about it, a Crumbia based firm (Morland ?) called Survival Aids (I kid you not, that was their name ! ) did a line in web that allowed high and low mountings of the pouch on the 58 belt. I am not sure if they were available in early 1992, but as Kevin ****** (ex-SBS) and Fred Fernley ( one of 22's old and bold) were on their early staff, they sold a shed full of kit to special forces, the Royals and Paras. In battle order I saw a lot of ALICE and 37 pattern being carried as well as lots of that very useful spare 58 waterbottle pouch.
Practically every Royal in the Task Force had a Cyclops Roc for which the Cumbrian firm were mail order agents . My son still gets use out of mine - it is over 30 years old and still a superb peice of kit.

Then you have the problem with the flash hider, that cone on the Bren is VERY Distinctive.....
SLR mag also has a very shallow curve, but yeah an LMG mag is just visably covered.
REal men also had 21 or 31 rounds in their SLR, fit mag, cock to chamber, take mag off and add lose round.

The para pose is similar to other Bren figures (gunner in bush hat). I have filed down the muzzle very gently and with a straighter mag in plastic card you have a passable 7.62 LMG gunner in 10mm scale.
This makes the WW2 para playable for the Falklands. All needed is a paint job for the Denison in DPM.
