Title says it all, really. It's sheer monotony to paint another two hundred for another army. Mmmm, good argument for those armies that didn't have cavalry in the pike and shot era. Any suggestions?
Coat d'arms horse shades, to break up the monotony of chestnut, ink wash, highlight, flashes, beer.
I meant equine-free forces.
Thats why I like my swedes. Only three cavalry units in 800 points and thats because they are compulsory!
The rest of the army is wall to wall Swedish Infantry Brigades with regimental guns :)
Irish Tudors? Scots? Zulus? Aztecs? ;)
Do what I do and get someone else to paint them :D
So that's why he's so keen on Aztecs ! ;)
Cheers - Phil. (I hate horses for a different reason.....I don't really hate them though ;))
If painting them is a trial, sculpting them is a complete bugger. I'm doing some right now.

Well, you could develop an army or two without geegees....

I ate horses.
So did I, while living in China. Surprisingly tasty. I felt rather guilty about it.
You don't need to be so far to do it...
The doctor even told my dear beloved-one to eat some during the pregnancy.

I really enjoy painting horses...I'll paint 'em for you FK (for a price ;))
I've eaten them too (in France, years ago) - a fact that my daughters still find tricky, what with us having six equines nowadays - all destined for competition, hunting, hurtling around the countryside etc rather than eating :)

I'm not keen or horses either.
Saxons and Vikings
Dacian - I know they have Sarmation allies, but Cataphracts are easy horses
Ancient British
AWI again limited use of horses.
I would add French Foriegn legion, but then you have to do arabs on either horses or Camels , And Camels are worse! :(
As for eating horses- No problem, Its usually only a cultural or religious difference that makes eating something taboo. I will try anything once.
