Some quick pics of my winter campaign Prussians - taken with a couple of cameras - will take some more in daylight as soon as I can...

Nik,
Great painting, as always! Where do you get your info on greatcoat colours? I'd always assumed that they were all a darkish grey, Landwehr and Line alike, and painted them as such when used as a roll around the body. Funny really, 'cos you'd think the description "blanket roll" might have made me think! Anyway, love these Pendraken figures, and the way you paint them.
Mollinary
Excellent, another thread to point people to for pics!

Thanks Mollinary - to be honest, I've used a little artistic license here: I've got Osprey & Foundry references which do show, to my eyes at least, a dark grey but with a dark blue tinge to it...I did a test base of the line in a black / regal blue mix but it was way too dark for me when viewed at arm's length on-table; I also wanted easy differentiation for the Landwehr - so therefore, everything got lightened a couple of tones. These pics - with flash - are showing them a bit lighter than they look though.
I'll see what they look like when they're lined up against the French - if they look too light, I'll give them another (darker) wash :)
Really really nice Nik!
Now let's see them in action. :D
You can really go off some people can't you ? ;) ;D ;D
Superb as usual Nik !
Cheers - Phil.

Thanks mad lemmey - actually, I'm working through with my plan at the moment - I'm about halfway through fighting a large battle with my 2mm armies - now that these are finished, I'll be able to choose a couple of actions from that battle to fight out, "zoomed in", using my 10mm :)

Ok.
I must say it.
I must say it for all the other time I didn't.
This is massive.
Nice work, Nik.
Where did you get the info on Prussian standards?
Strandards??
Prussians dont have any standards.
Gordon,
Are you talking vexillogically or morally? :-\
Mollinary
Just amazing, fantastic paint job....now I can't wait for my order with the War Store gets processed and shipped. Austrians and Prussians!
Very cool! 8)
Mollinary, morally of course, they grind up unwanted kids and turn them into sausages, how else do you explain Bratwurst?
True, I appreciate the horror of a true born Englishman (?) when faced with a sausage which is actually composed 100% of meat! Where did that idea come from? Foreigners, eh!? :o :o :o
Mollinary
Was it not Blackadder who came up with the phrase ... "It's sausage time"
It's not all meat. There's some fat in there too!

I had a good look round the online knowledge and, IIRC, found a thread somewhere (here, TMP, LAF?) which said to head to North Star for a look at 1866 as the most accurate source - so I did & went from there...

Nik,
I think that was a thread on TMP, I certainly recommend a look at the North Star site, because it is easily accessible and contains the results of some serious research, originally done (I think) by the proprietor of Helion Books. He accessed the best Prussian source, which is available as a CD and print out from historischerbilderdienst.de No substitute for the original hard work of the real aficionados!

Mollinary, never, ever, insult a Scot by calling him an Englishman.
/ducks head below the parapet and waits for the incoming barrage of "Engerlund Forever!" abuse.

What am I going to do with my 10mm Jacobites post 2014? They will become illegal in Engerland ... I suppose a big table at Hadrians Wall with Jacobites north and Cumberland south, contesting the wall. :-\
