Title: VBCW - Crimson Permanent Assurance
Post by: GrumpyOldMan on 10 October 2012, 01:24:07 AM
Hello

I was thinking about another unit that I could come up with and I thought about a Crimson Permanent Assurance type outfit. I thought the Boer officer would make a stand out command figure with a bowler hat:-

Do you think that the Boers (without upturned brim on the slouch hats), Naval Brigade with straw boaters or standard VBCW types with cloth caps would best represent feral clerks? This came about because I was working on a card ship Model and my thoughts went to crew and I was thinking along pirate lines, and suddenly the Crimson Permanent Assurance office building under sail sprang to mind  :D. The mind is a funny thing.

Enough light entertainment, back to serious stuff.

Cheers

Excellent choice for a commander old chap 8)

A mix of straw boaters and cloth caps might make a nice unit of feral clerks ....

And that's definitely enough light entertainment ... this Very British War is a serious business you know  ;)

Cheers,

Kev

I have a nice n gauge mill that would fit the bill, it's a card model that you can get from most railway shops. Odd, I was thinking about war gaming  the crimson assurance just the other day.  :D
