WD3 (the rather pleasant wargaming forum) has been down for over a week with no sign of the server returning - so as a result we have moved here. Just in case anyone was missing us :)

That's a real shame, I always enjoyed popping into WD3 for a browse about. Is there any chance of the database behind the old forum being recovered, so that it can be integrated into a new one?
:-\
Purps is going to try to extract the old data and transfer it - but Forumer need to restore it first (no sign of that at the moment)....
Bugger. I noticed that the site was often slow for me, and I know there were a few server issues previously as well weren't there? I hope it all gets back up and running OK.
If there's anything we can do at this end to help out, let me know.

Forumer have been pretty flaky as a provider. The good news is the new forum actually works and is advert free. Just a shame that for the moment we are missing the archive of resources which was pretty good. Someones resurrected the scantily clad females thread though (must be a common feature to all wargamer forums ....)
are you going to join then ? you are posted on the official MIA list :)

Done!
I couldn't find the MIA list though, I must be looking in the wrong place. Has Purple had any luck pulling the old forum archive yet?

Bugger. That's one of my biggest fears when it comes to the Forum, that year's worth of everyone's contributions can be lost like that. I really hope Forumer pull their finger out and fix it.
You are supposed to BACK IT UP. Course no one ever does.
IanS ;)
true. And Forumer shamelessly state that they offer no option for their users to take a backup. I heartily un-recommend them as a provider of forum solutions.

Matt does a weekly backup thank you very much! :D
I know what you mean though, it can be time-consuming to commit to regular backups, so it often gets forgotten.
