Well, start with the http://www.pendraken.co.uk/19th-Century-c15/1859-French-sc199/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/19th-Century-c15/1859-French-sc199/) 1859 range, unless you want guards (ongoing rumble about 1859 Voltigers Command turns up a notch), try these:
http://www.pendraken.co.uk/19th-Century-c15/Crimean-War-French-sc86/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/19th-Century-c15/Crimean-War-French-sc86/) Crimea
Otherwise the 1870 range http://www.pendraken.co.uk/19th-Century-c15/1870-French-sc93/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/19th-Century-c15/1870-French-sc93/) and welcome and good luck, shout if you need anything, they're agreat bunch here!

The infantry are in Kepi  by 1859. I posted them as an option so you could mix them in an odd veteran with a shako, if you look at the Osprey 1859 'Solferino, Battle of Italian Liberation', most contemporary sketches units are illustrated in the kepi rather than shako.

Here's Napoleon III at Solferino, note the profussion on kepis:

Cameronian, you are the best of sorts (keep posting like that and you'll be a colonel in no time)!

The 1870 French Line  Infantry (FPW8 & FPW9) and Chasseurs (FPW10) are fine for 1859

Imperial Guard Grenadiers are available with bearskins (FIW1) - they are converted from FPW8 & FPW9

Techno has just sent Leon the masters for Guard Voltigeurs with Shako - again they are converted from FPW8 & FPW9 but with different backpacks

Artillery is fairly well covered by FPW

The only cavalry you will need are Chasseurs a Cheval and a few Hussars - again from the FPW range

Black Powder
Fire & Fury (Brigade or Regimental) with it's 1859 suppliment that's free on the web http://www.wfgamers.org.uk/resources/C19/fandfmods.htm (http://www.wfgamers.org.uk/resources/C19/fandfmods.htm)
It's offshoot 'Age of Eagles' has a free Solferino scenario: http://www.ageofeagles.com/Pages/Downloads.aspx (http://www.ageofeagles.com/Pages/Downloads.aspx)
Volley & Bayonet (best for BIG battles, first edition features St Privat as a scenario).

I have RFF so may start with that. Weapons should be similar. Cavalry rules might be different as I cant remember if RFF has mounted cav rules that work as I have never used them as our ACW games are all infantry.

I believe that Techo Phil converted the FPW French Command pack - FPW9 - to wear the Shako for Chad

So that's 1859 Guard Volitgeurs plus Crimean Line Infantry plus 1840s Conquest of Algeria

Joy!
