I've just read in the latest Battlegames Sam Mustaf,s musings on the writing of his rules - Maurice. I'm interested to know whether the rules are suitable for the French Indian War - especially on how the Indians are 'controlled'.
On a similar score is Maurice suitable for solo play - a lot of the TFL rules are card driven and excellent for solo play - I think Maurice uses cards in a different way and may not be so appropiate.
Thanks

I have a birthday coming up and may want to add the rules to my wish list.
Hi
Haven't got around to trying them yet but Maurice Lite is available which is a simplified version so will probably be enough to give you an idea on whether they suit or not. Available through this http://www.freewargamesrules.co.uk/2/post/2012/4/maurice-lite.html (http://www.freewargamesrules.co.uk/2/post/2012/4/maurice-lite.html)

Maurice is certainly playable as a solo game but as for FIW I will let others more informed pass comment.
I use it for AWI but the battles were much bigger.
I've played it solo & it works really well - I've got the forces for FIW (not painted yet and therefore not gamed yet] - and am certain that it'll work fine...

Yes.

The same as any other irregular force.

I'd imagine so, since the cards drive what you can do. However, there are a LOT of tactical decisions to be made by each side.

Yes, and that 'way' is FAR superior to the TFL card activation.
Oh, and happy birthday! :D
