LinkedIn.  Social Networking made as boring as is humanly possible.

Mrs Techno uses Facebook....But only so she can look at one particular friend's page.
I'm just starting with Google +.....Purely to join another forum member's 'site'. ;) (I think I've forgotten my password already  :'()
I'll see how I get on with it :-SS.....
Cheers - Phil.

Ermm, I prefer to do my "social networking" down the pub, the old fashioned way.

Well said that man :-bd

Now if we can get back to speaking face to face with one another the world would probably be a MUCH better place and the good old British Pub wouldn't be going down the pan.

Too right, as much as I hate drink driving, unless the pub serves seriously good food, no one drives out to the pub now! Spent my youth with a bottle of lemonade and a bag of crisps in many a pub garden, with all the smokers indoors instead!  :D

I have no particular desire to 'network' with anyone.

However Mrs Luddite apparently has some sort of farming concern that takes up an inordniate amount of time, and so i was dragged onto facebook to supply her with nails, and sheep, and sundry other agricultural items.

Found people i'd long lost contact with, which was a nice surprise.

Also a good forum to bait the Right wing and religious nutjobs...

Balanced of course against the time her husband spends here :P

I get those as well, including a load of other nonsense that people send me.  I wish I had the spare time to create a virtual farm...  ???

I've blocked most of them on the computer, but for some reason they still appear on my phone...?!   >:(

Oh if anyone ever finds a way to block all that crap on the phone it'd be great!

Somewhere hidden in settings is a mobile phone setting where you can turn it off, I'll look later...

On an iPhone go into settings, notifications, pick the face book app, and set alert style to none.

I guess on Android there is something similar...

Or just delete the facebook app.

My internet usage is far too old school to even get facebook.

I sacked FB a few months ago, too much bad news, boring news and trivial photos of cute animals, and it generated absolutely no extra business whatsoever. Did find some long lost friends but I'll never get to meet them again face to face, so seemed depressing somehow. All the important people already had/have my mobile no or email and home address, so have  not lost out particularly but have saved a lot of time, now I don't spend 2 hours a day scrolling through rubbish posts to spot something interesting or important.

Never tried Google+, Google Chrome, and Linklin (or whatever it's called) seems to have no effect on business either. Andriod? That's something off Doctor Who isn't it? Or was it Star Trek?  :-\

Mark, Google+ is a bit like facebook, but allows much better control of who is in contact with who, so you can separate gaming friends, colleagues and family much more easily. The main downside is not many people use it (compared to Facebook)

LinkedIn is a networking site based around work - so it groups contacts by jobs. Its supposed to be good if you are changing jobs. But never really found it useful myself, but its low maintenance so seems worthwhile staying on just in case.

Google Chrome, is just a web browser like Firefox, Safari or the dreadful but ubiquitous Internet Explorer

Not sure any are great use to a small business doing army lists...
