Title: ACW type 1/type 2
Post by: TimS on 28 August 2012, 04:59:00 PM
Can someone tell me what type 1 and type 2 refer to in the new range? They look very simillar to me in the photos although that may be more a comment on my eyesight...

The Type 1 foot figures were sent back to the designer, who added blanket rolls, backpacks, pouches, beards, hat swops, etc. to them, to give us more variation in the basic foot codes.

There's a bit of info and some more pics in the releases so far:

Perhaps I am being dense, but I still can't see any differences between the type 1 and type 2 figures ...

It is very difficult to spot the detail differences from the photos I must admit.  :-\

I'm glad it's not just me!

The differences are only subtle, a backpack here, a canteen there, but it was done to give more variety in the line.  There's now 24 individual Union and 24 Confederate foot types, to give a proper ragtag look to your units.

Possibly, we'll see what people want as they're armies grow.  I'd imagine more poses for the Greatcoats or Iron Brigade could come up at some point.

I would be happy to mix in greatcoat figs into other packs when it comes to Confederate forces..  ;)

Western Union troops might be a good addition.
