Title: Making Minefields
Post by: Rubicon on 21 August 2012, 08:07:36 PM
Hi,

I've added another terrain building project to our club website - a "how to" guide for making really simple, but effective looking, minefields.

Happy gaming

Comprehensive article, always like somethii that makes something that could be difficult nice and easy with clear explanations.  ;) :D
I, strangly, use a very similar method for mine, except I use split peas UNDER the sand to act as buried mines!

Thanks for your comments.
I'm working on a few more - some of which have half-buried mines. I might just have to steal your split-pea idea lemmey...

Once again Rubicon - thank you

Now how about some tutorials on bunkers and pillboxes in 10mm?

I know you have made them.................. ;)

Nice tutorial.

For the MG nests you can do something like this.....

http://ww2games.blog.co.uk/2011/04/15/15mm-mg-bunker-molds-complete-and-casts-made-11010721/

I built these in 15mm but the same principles follow for 10mm

Cheers, Craig

Really nice work Craig - duly copied and filed.  Rubicon has made an excellent Japanese jungle/island style bunker which I would love to see pics of as well :-\

Another way is to mix iodine crystals with liquid ammonia, the leave bits of the result on the table to dry. They result will be an effective and entertaining minefield effect, and as a bonus it should ensure that your cats will never jump onto the wargames table again.

One possibility I did for a FOW bunker (EF thou) objective marker was went into the garden found some small twigs broke them to length then applied a base of polyfilla and placed the first layer in for sides (leaving a gap for the entrance) then layered it up one at a time a bit of plyfilla lay thje next one and so, after about four it was high enough create a roof by doing slightly longer ones set over a peice of paper perhaps, insert inhabitants hey presto pretty cool relaistic looking peice.

And umm no army long sold sorry....and besides another company and wrong scale (15's) so wouldnt have been able to post it anyway
