Title: Help identifying SYW French
Post by: Rubicon on 18 August 2012, 08:55:33 PM
Hi,

Just back from a week in a caravan near Flamborough - all very nice and relaxing, but a week was long enough. Janine & the children are staying on for another week with her sister and her kids meaning I now have a whole week to myself - time enough (if I don't get distracted online) to finish painting those French & Prussians for Maurice.

I really want to make the most of this week as I'm starting a new job in a couple of weeks and that, coupled with soon-to-start pantomime rehearsals - I'm a Take That song "singing" LittleJohn (I only went along as chaperone for my eldest and got kinda talked into it....) - along with all of the normal stuff are going to mean less gaming and painting time for a couple of months at least  :(

Anyway, I digress - I have enough Prussians, having bought an army pack and a couple of bits and pieces a while back but I'm gonna need more French infantry. The French infantry I have are no longer in their original little bag so I'm not sure what code they are. Any help identifying these chaps would be greatly appreciated. Excuse the crappy iPhone pic (my camera's still holidaying with the others...)

That's the advancing pose, so that would make them SYF3 I reckon.

Further to the previous very qualified answers, is it possible that this is  MAL3 from the Maburian range?

It is very similar to MAL3 but having just looked at a stand of MAL3 they don't have the sword at the back.
