We're using FoG:R. Looking forward to getting more painted. Roundheads are almost done.
Looks like fun.

Welcome Rothgar. Very nice unit. Could do with a bigger picture, though. :-bd
Go to his blog (in his footer), click on the picture and it opens a larger version! They're still as good when enlarged! :D

It's true! Damn, these look good! :o
Please tell me Rothgar, what do you do to paint those lively, detailed faces?
Cheers,
Aart

True. These figures have escaped the common tendency of 17th century P. and S. all to look the same. Well done, sir.

Good spot Lemmey ! Bigger pic does them credit.
Great work Rothgar !! :-bd
Cheers - Phil.
Thanks All,
The only thing different that I started doing with this regiment was prime using the automotive primer in a rust/red color. Normally I use grey or black.
I'm going to guess and say that any gaps or spaces that didn't get block painted get shaded by the wash, but it's a different hue than wash over grey.
I'll add some static grass and do a dull coat when I have a bunch more bases done.

Before I dash across the road to get my own can of rust/red primer, can you tell me how you did the faces?
Cheers,
Aart
Aart,
I didn't do anything special.. just block painted the face a flesh tone. I think the combo of the fleshtone (vallejo model color dwarf skin) and the GW Devlan mud wash make it stand out.

Top stuff! :) I'm already gaming AVBCW. With examples like yours, it's all too tempting to get into the earlier version. ;)
We've got another chap looking at doing ECW's using FoG, out of curiosity, what size bases are you using?
