TMP, proving what the rest of the world suspect about the US may be true for many of it's inhabitants. (I do know some perfectly reasonable Americans)
Nice to see they can use French sometimes :D
Yes, funny bunch of people aren't they!
'Sorry - only trusted members can post on the forums.'
TMP cracks me up. ;D :D ;D :D
Hey Let's not make all Americans out to be same. :)
Just because some young kid lacks brains doesn't mean the rest of us agree with it. Heck this guy has 4 Stifle out of 24 posts, and has only been a member for a few years. The down side of the TMP is that there are a large number of members and with that many posters/postings you are bound to get a few bad grapes.
Why do I think he is less then 30 something, cause older folks wouldn't use words like that.

Quite right, us older folk use words such as rapscallion ;)
Good Call, Sandinista right up my ally.

Totally agree...I've worked with (and for) a number of Americans (and their firms).....I've liked every single one of them.
They've all been terrific to know.
Cheers - Phil.

I once said in a game "Hells Bells" and someone commented that they've not heard that since Eisenhower was President. Funny thing I wasn't even born yet.
Sorry Last Hussar, I agree that guy is jerk.

Totally Mad Pillock ? ;D
Aart.....Whippersnapper I may be.....Young I'm most definitely not ! ;D

Only as young as...
oh you know the rest!
Thanks Lemmey.... ;)
That knocks a whole 18 months from my age. ;D ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil
Adds 11 to mine.
:'(
Yay I've just got younger by 6 years :D
Can I point out that in French "douche" simply means "shower". As a character in Big Bang Theory once remarked of a feeble insult, "quick, rush me to the burns unit!" :P :P :P
But in the US it means something a little more intimate.
I thought people got "dawghoused" for this sort of behaviour on TMP.... :-\
I was lucky - I didn't get dawghoused despite criticising the US. :P

Perhaps you should point out to our colonial cousin who insulted you that thier population is 10 times that of Great Britain, So by the law of averages just to be considered as equals to us in sporting prowess they have to win 10 times more medals. :D :D
Or you might find it more ammusing to assume he is a Redneck, his house has wheels and suggest that he goes to school today and learns his colours , starting with Gold Siver and Bronze
Also, your original point and the subsequent 'arguments' are irrelevant now. ;)
China leads whichever method is chosen.
Cheers - Phil.
Techno- are you suggesting the US ISN'T the greatest country on the planet. Expect Fox News to start abusing you.

Goodness knows how many ANYONE would have to win to beat Granada then ! :D
There aren't enough different events for another country to do that, are there ? ;D
Seriously though....I enjoy it all...Yeah, I cheer when
we get a medal of whatever colour...But I get a buzz when a member of Whateverland does brilliantly too !
That's what the original concept was, wasn't it ?
Cheers - Phil.
Yep, right on the button, Phil. :)

PAH !....
Now the USA have more medals (in total) than China..
Though China lead on the 'Just Gold' table !
Wonder how many times this will change, back and forth, before the closing ceremony ! :-\ :-<
Cheers - Phil.
Go Mo ... Gold.
<:-P :-bd =D>
The boy 'done good !'
Just a few orcs,
I think our colonial cousins might point out that your post graphically illustrates the "Old Country's" slide down the performance table when it comes to maths and geography! About 313 million to about 63 million doesn't look like 10:1 to me,but then I was brung up when we was taught 'rithmetic, not all this new fangled math'matics business!
Mollinary
You is right - 4.965 to 1........ :D ;)
The NBC way of doing the math was an own goal as it put the US behind China. The BBC method put them first.
I need a douche avec le soap.
One of my minor amusements has been looking at just what utterly stupid things people get dawghoused for on TMP.. Does anyone know why it's been empty for ages.. Is something broken or have American TMP'ers suddenly turned polite?
I think a lady was banned by TMP because she reported another member for threatening her with physical violence. From memory nothing happened to the person who issued the threat
I use The Wargames website now
http://www.thewargameswebsite.com
Is it not because everyone has left TMP.
Probably Forbes.....I genuinely can't remember the last time I investigated the site.
(Apart from the very odd occasions when one of you lot post a link.)
Not even sure what my password is, anymore.
Cheers - Phil
Ditto Phil, I've been there 3 or 4 times following links in the past year, otherwise can't be bothered. I frequent Lead Adventure Forum quite a bit, a much nicer class of people there to PMT.
I sympathise with a lot of what people say, but would not abandon the forum because of a proportion of trolling idiots. If you want to find out some esoteric details on subjects like the Seven Years War or the Thirty Years War there are a lot of extremely knowledgable and helpful people around who don't mind sharing their expertise. So I go in to be educated or, if there are questions on my tiny areas of expertise, to help out. I certainly wouldn't discourage people from experiencing the jungle that is out there!
Mollinary
PS But it is much nicer on here!
I go on TMP pretty much every day and find it very helpful, there is a wealth of good info on there if you avoid the usual suspects and most people are very friendly and decent. Although it is much better here!! :)
I go on TMP everytime when...
The site is down for maintenance apparently!
;D ;D ;D
TMP....
I'd rather floss myself with razorwire........
Well I am now spending much more time here because I do exclusively 10mm AND you are such a lovable and zany bunch! There's none like you! :)
Still TMP offers a huge range of information so never good to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Oh! Nice one, Fenton. I might actually use this site.
I tried TMP, but found it to be full on toddlers piddling in their sandpit.
I thought TMP was "Tango01 Miniatures Page". With the amount of click bait he posts I'm surprised he's not somehow monetizing his activity. I think Bill hasn't curtailed his activities because he provides content, although most of what Tango posts is only gaming related if you stretch the idea of what is gaming related. But Bill doesn't realize that this makes TMP no different than Buzzfeed or answers.com.
I prefer the Pendraken forum as my primary stop for hobby related news since I mainly game in 10mm.
Strangely the non-gaming stuff that Tango posts is what's interesting. Its when he posts gaming stuff that's too big to miss anyway, like the latest Perry plastics, or that's already on the front page when he posts, that's a bit irritating. I reckon the only site on the internet he doesn't actually read is TMP.
However he does find the proverbial acorn now and then, so I don't mind him.
Rarely dip into TMP and when I do, I know what your saying, guys, about Tango (I just ignore his stuff now). If not somehow done for monetary gain, it has crossed my mind that he means well, but is perhaps a type of personality that can't help himself and is naive or unaware of the negative effect of posting so prolifically.
I find TMP really useful, though I make full use of the feature that allows you to only get feeds on the folders that interest you, plus I freely use the stifle / ignore features and imagine others do the same to me.
I enjoy the wargames website, though have never liked seeing TMP tantrums brought to that site by the few people who need to carry arguements over to other places. TMP is TMP and TMP business and posts are best left at TMP. Sorry if that sounds brusk, but there you are.
Nothing wrong with that, Norm.
Good post.
Cheers - Phil

I have no problems with the arguments, as i djust don't read them. I don't post there either, just go there for info.
But you have to admit, a site that has to be shut down daily to update, there are much better platforms we can use now.
