Title: Italian Anti-tank rifles
Post by: sultanbev on 02 August 2012, 04:02:14 PM
Was it this forum that there was a discussion on Italian ATRs?

Anyway, found the info I had:

10th Army Libya received 20mm Solothurns in Sept 1940
In Sept 1941 the following were allocated:
Brescia Division: 35
Pavia: 60
Ariete Armoured Division: 15

In Feb 1943 totals available were:
Trieste: 35
Giovani Fascisti: 31
Pistoia Division: 7
Centauro Division: 33
Saharianas: 6

The 250x wz35 A/T rifles received from Germany were used in North Africa by paratroopers and motorised divisions.
Also the Granatieri dr Savoia Division used captured Boys in East Africa
Trento Division used Boys in Tobruk defence 1941.
Boys ammo allegedly manufactured in Italy by SMI.
PTRD and PTRS captured, were used on Russian front by Italians.
