Just shooting the s**t and I know there's copy right and all but. Star wars the models!
Set between new hope and Empire SB.
Or can you make look alike storm troopers and such?
I'm not just talking rebels and empire, many more armies out and about. (Ewok army mo fo!)

EWOKS - HE WANTS EWOKS !!!!![/size]
Find thi man a Doctor quickly, he'll be asking for Tribbles next.
IanS :d
No I want a army of storm troopers led by vader himself!
However, don't underestimate Ewoks. The empire fell due to thos little dudes! Think about it, it was a trap... The empire knew that the rebels would try to take the shield generator and had a ambush ready. After the ambush the fleet would find the shield up and would be unable to engage.
The Empire decided that the Ewoks were of no significant risk and due to this ignorance the Reble and Ewok alliance managed to destroy the ambushing force, turn off the SG and the Deathstar ii was destroyed.
I believe that Lucas takes its IP very seriously, so probably you'll never get your 10mm stormtrooper army.
BUT you might get by with a natty paint job on the new Sci-Fi troopers.

... and the Deathstar ii was destroyed.
... And all those innocent contractors brought in to do the job were killed â€" casualties of a war they had nothing to do with.
Yeah, 10mm sci fi. That's what I like a 10mm its hard to prove copyright on such little guys!
Something 'similar'....but different enough to avoid problems with IP ....would be possible with the storm troopers (maybe).
Only if Leon was interested though !
But that nice Mr Vader is just SO individual I would imagine Mr Lucas would be rather interested if he found out.
Just my two pees worth.
Cheers - Phil.
PS....Have I got this right ?.....Ian wants me to make some 'tribbles'. ;) ;D
Great, an opponent for my Lemmings! ;D

No I dont want Tribbles.... I was suggesting that if Ewoks appeared then we might get tribbles, probably with silly brass 'ats and lots of feathers. :d
IanS
Tribbles in tarletons? Nah, that's silly!
Tribbles wear picklehaubes! :P
I had a Tribble once. It died...
'Space Battles' would be excellent, but the IP battle risk is an issue.
I really don't see a problem with 'near enough' stuff though.
Generic 'space armoured' chaps painted white at 10mm would be perfectly acceptable. It'll be the iconic stuff like AT-ATs and so on that will be a problem.
However, there's absolutley nothing to stop you using existing ranges for 'Star Wars'. E.g. there's a good alternate history range in 'WWII Star Wars' or 'Steam punk Star Wars'...
The big sci fi thing i've got bubbling under is Firefly...mixing up ACW/wild west/sci-fi and WWII should do it.

So....That's a tribble in a picklehaub to go then.....I'll get straight on with it while I'm doing that nice Mr
Galtieri....Erm....Some other bloke.
Cheers - Phil.
I think we are moving away from the point a little. :-\
Everyone knows an ee'wok is a cooking implement used by chinese takeaways in Yorkshire. :D
Beam me up Scotty! =)
Chad
Id be up for some "Not" stormtroopers, "NOT" Clonetroopers, and "NOT" trade fed Droids.
Ewoks, hmmmmm let me think.......NAAAAAAAH, What old Georgie boy was thinking when he came up with them is anyones guess.
A "not" Daft Dader would be good, but he has such a recognisable look, it would be a lot worse than the EE (GW that is) legal team knocking on your door, my mate years ago had to contact the Lucas legals about a live action Star wars theme park type experience to get a licence and It didnt go down well.
Maybe getting some official licenced figs done, not sure how much it would cost though, mind you it could be a real money spinner, the only 10mm official star wars minis in the world, the fans would cream themselves.... ;D

Wasn't there some 1:144th Star Wars stuff I saw somewhere ages ago?
Yup, micro machines. GDW used to do true 25mm figures (actually really nice, I have a large army painted for No Limits).

Although I started this thread I must re locate my efforts and enforce another of my dreams Dr Who....
Wait guys! I'm not saying an army of Daleks against Dr who! I'm talking about using the DW univers.
I must also point out that I'm talking classic Dr who, not the new stuff... Dr who died at Maccoy in my book.... although I did like Chrisy E.... the movie didn't exist... Although the bit at the start were Mcoy got Uzied was good... So I don't count macoy!... So it ended with baker The 2nd... Although.... He dint have much a chance so he was pants... So it Ended with davidson.... Wait no... Adric, Nissa, Tellor and Tegan (she was SJane but worse!) spoilt Davidson... Tom... It's Tom people.... Genius of the Daleks, Robots of death, Talons. Of Weng Chang, Robot, Morbius, Revenge of the cybermen, S J, Leela, Romana 1... It's Tom ;)
So armies of Cybermen (read cybermen by David banks! One of the best books ever!) Darleks, Draconions, Galifrayons....
IP must be lose as Blacktree design / Harlequin do 25mm Dr who. Unless they pay a lincencing fee to the BBC?

I
believe they took out a licence YONKS ago (or had some arrangement with the Beeb from
way back.)
I would reckon the marketing division of 'Auntie' is a lot more in tune with IP nowadays...
I'll do some checking the next time I speak to an old colleague.
Cheers - Phil.
There is a company somewhere who own rights to produce the figures, which I believe were purchased in the 90's (?) when it was off TV and the BBC had no plans for any more? AndyMac might be able to jump in, as he's a rather large fan of the good Doctor.

Yes! AMT/Eartl produced a diorama kit based on Battle of Hoth 1:144. In the box there are 2 AT-AT, 1 crippled AT-AT, 1 AT-ST, 4 Snow speeders, 6 laser towers and cannons, several Snowtrooper and Rebels soldiers. Another AMT.... kit reproduced the interior of Echo rebel base with a rebel transport, several X and Y wings and a set of movie characters, including Darth Vader. I used these kits to run a demo game many many years ago in an Italian convention. The troopers are ugly but the AT-... and vehicles are really nice.

In any case I wish an improve of Pendraken SF range so this request for stormtroopers is very wellcome. Could also request a restyling for arachnid?? :)
Oh wait... Micro machines did do two star wars releases. The 'space fleet' that was about 10mm crap models although the ships and also the atat atst and such were nice, the ships are way out of scale but the chickens were fine.
There was a 2nd gen Micros had the men at around 15mm and the being and such to scale. I had a load of these.... I miss them :-(
So we could use 1st gen atst and atats and mix in pen sci fi and possibly some of the micro m models, I Belive the Ewoks were decent models... On that note, leave the Ewoks alone!
Knight models used to do fantastic 54mm & 30mm star wars figures. but now discontinued http://www.knightmodels.com/product.php?id_product=41
Hey dude, at the end of the link you have a bunck of pendraken star wars rebels

What's the fascination with Starwars stormtroopers anyway? The armour can't even keep out small-arms fire. They'd be better off without it. And as for those clumsy, clanking walkers..... do me a favour! :P
