Not sure if this is the correct place for this as it's not a request as such, but is there any interest in the Taiping rebellion? I did muse upon it a few years ago and thought of doing it in 6mm, but i just wondered if there was any interest here and if so what if any figures could be used to start the ball rolling. Twas the talk of Chinese Boxers in an old post that got me musing anew.
I'd be in the market for some of the appropriate types, but only to convert to join my Ming.
Interesting event in social terms, and a great tagline -- Jesus' little brother vs. Chinese Gordon -- but what was it like militarily?
It would be quicker to say what it hasn't got to be honest, Vast armies, sieges, navel engagements, foreign intervention, mercenaries, massacres and more and lets not forget Chinese Gordon leading The Ever Victorious Army. 1851-1864

I'm no expert btw, just interested in a conflict that seems hardly noticed despite its magnitude.
Unless you are Chinese, when it was seen as the first step that led to their domination of the west, according to Newsnight when discussing their expansion into a global trade empire at their present. The main event of note (or British crime, according to the Chinese) was the burning of several cultural and religious sites including the palace!
