Ok folks,
Does anyone out there no the correct paint colours for my japanese field guns please. My preffered paint choice is vallego. I have seen somewhere that they were painted a type of brown but not sure.
Thanks,
Steve.
Very difficult as there are few colour photos of the weapons. It would also depend on the theatre they were used in. In Burma they seem to have been a dark green initially. Many of them seem to have been camoflaged in the field i.e. by the crews themselves. Mine are done with irregular patches of ochre and dark brown, as per an illustration in The Japanese War Machine edited by S.L. Mayer, Bison Books 1977.

Thanks hertsblue,
Looking at early war, malaya, so i may go with dark green as you suggest. I have seen a 70mm infantry gun in singapore which was painted green but thats the only one i have seen in colour, either in print or otherwise.
