Title: PPW 24 Saxon Infantry in Peaked Feldmutze
Post by: mollinary on 05 July 2012, 05:53:52 PM
Well, upto a point Lord Copper!   The two poses in this set are really nice figures, one on guard, one walking/marching with his rifle over his shoulder. Both have the afore mentioned peaked feldmutzen.  But what do they Really represent? Well not Saxons in 1870 with peaked feldmutzen, because these figures have belly cartridge pouches, whereas by 1870 they should be using Prussian accoutrements.  But I think these would make superb 1866  Bavarians and Saxons. It would be great to add a similar quality command pack to the range.  Anyone else have similar ideas/ different views?

Yep, all mine were for 1866. Interesting that they could be used for 1866 Bavarians, though. Hmmm  :-\

I bought some to go with the 1860 Bavarians. Nice figures. Now
If we could have some in greatcoats then Baden
would be done for 1866

I am painting a bunch for 1866. I mixed in the other Saxon pack as well. I also plan on using them for 1866 Bavarians. I have one stray picture of them on my blog with the Prussians of all things and will photograph the rest at some point.
