Title: 1/144 Lewis Guns from Shapeways
Post by: GrumpyOldMan on 02 July 2012, 02:59:21 AM
Hi All

I came across some Lewis Guns from Shapeways, 48 of them!!
http://www.shapeways.com/model/541966/1-144th-lewis-guns.html (http://www.shapeways.com/model/541966/1-144th-lewis-guns.html)
Very depressing for me since the postage to Australia is over twice the price of the guns  :( $20.00!!!)

Cheers

It's coming up at £15-ish with shipping to the UK, I'm not sure what that equates to in $AUS?

Vic

If you need them for aircraft then I recommend the Peter Pig 1/144.  It is correctly cast as aircooled version.  The difference in scale for this size of figure is about 1mm with "10mm/1/150".

If you want the  jacket version I have a number of converts with different heads based on BP3.   If there is demand I can send Leon a convert with the head pinned that should survive the mould.

Hello James/Sunray

Thanks for the pointers, I was looking for some for Aircraft (I'm in the middle of converting the Zvezda JU52 to a Spartan Cruiser-ish type aircraft and thought a dorsal Lewis gun might set off the Ju87 spatted wheels  :) :) ).

But I was also looking for some to add AA capabilities to some scratch built armoured trucks. Up to now I've been using scratch built stuff for guns but I was getting lazy  :D. I've also been doing some conversion work on the WW1 and VBCW Lewis gunners using the civilian cloth cap, sidecap/isabelino, Adrian helmet and French sailor cap (makes a good ToS).

Cheers
