Title: The Day After Ragnarok
Post by: Squirrel on 25 June 2012, 07:55:54 PM
I wonder if anyone else has seen 'The Day After Ragnarok' by Atomic Overmind Press?

I was looking through the RPG Now website for inspiration for a new pulpish RPG/ skirmish campaign and found this source book. For those who don't know it, it is based at the towards the end of WW2 after the Germans 'supernatural department' have successfully instigated Ragnarok. Needless to say the plan backfired causing the devastation of Europe, America and most of N. Africa and the Middle East. Only Soviet Russia is left unscathed, the rest of the world in a post-apocalyptic state with some mythological nasties thrown in for good measure!

Sounds like a fun place to send some intrepid adventurers! Britain is crushed but the Empire still stands, America is in crisis trying to rebuild itself, and the Soviets are the next big threat.

The book lays out events leading up to the apocalypse, the current political situation and international intrigue in a reasonable amount of detail, outlines the type of threats in different areas and gives a nice world map of 'the day after'.

If you are looking for a Post-Apocalyptic setting with a twist i heartily recommend this. And now I have an excuse (like I needed one) to order another bunch of Pendraken goodies, which at long last will include the Corvette I've been wanting for a while.

Cheers,

Kev

They do two versions, one compatible with Savage Worlds, the other with Hero System.

I'll be using my own 'home brew' rules, so it a moot point for me.
