Title: Pike & Shotte TYW Cuirassiers
Post by: Aart Brouwer on 21 June 2012, 05:08:00 PM
When I ordered my first (trial) batch of Pendraken ECW and TYW models for Pike & Shotte, I promised Leon to turn them into pure-bred 17th century sons-of-bitches. Well, here's the first batch, just finished - apart from the matt finish (spray can is on tomorrow's To-Do list).

Hi Aart,

Very nice painting there!   I notice at least some of them seem to have  the rod still in place underneath the horse's belly. I have always found these pretty easy to cut off with a sharp scalpel, without any obvious effect on the stability or survivability of the figures. It certainly improves the visual effect.  Worth a try?

No effect on stability you say? I'll cut them off asap then.

A unit of Spanish arquebusiers/dragoons are next, both mounted and dismounted so I can switch during the game. They're for tomorrow or Saturday. I'll have a better camera, too, the new (!) camera one I bought sucks and has been returned.

Cheers,
Aart

Half an hour later: Hey Mollinary, I've cut off all their ghoulies and they didn't flinch. I guess they're my kind of guys, they just grow new ones.  8)

Mmmmm. Pike and shot troops really do have that little something extra, don't they?

Lovely work. Excellent depiction of armour.
