The boys at HQ asked me to do a special figure for the Birthday-Bash celebrations, and after some talk we decided George Washington might be a good subject. He ca work as either the real thing, or stood on a plinth to make a nice bronze statue for scenery.

Really impressive! Wish I was coming... :D
You forgot to add the aztec in the tarleton to his base! :D
That's lovely clib...and makes any further resistance to the AWI totally futile! :D
Really nice sculpt and great for my AWI American army for Maurice.

Excellent, very nice!

Think I've found the inspiration - the statue in Allegheny Commons Park, Pittsburgh?

Nik - Clib's has more detail! :D
You're right! 8)
Very nice sculpt indeed 8) Pity I will never see one in the flesh :(
A lovely job there Clib, can't wait to paint him up.
Brilliant, Clib. Especially when you realise the photo is actually two or three times bigger than the figure. Amazing. =D>
Very, very nice!! I look forward to painting mine - then of course I'll "need" a pair of opposing armies to accompany this figure - what devious (in a nice way) chaps there are at Pendraken HQ...
Leon,
For thos of us who cant make the birthday bash, will these be available to buy?
Cheers, Craig

Not sure yet, to be honest. We'll cast up a set amount for the show, and then any which are left after the event will be sold off on the website. After that we'll have to decide whether to make it a one-off limited edition run, or add it to the catalogue.
:-\
Add it to the catalogue, he's too good not to have on general demand, maybe a s a 'limited edition' (GW parlance for add a tenner to the price)... ;)
Definitely worth putting on general sale, and nothing to do with the fact I won't be able to make the bash but still want one :d
Excellent work Clib :-bd
Cheers,
Kev
Another vote to make it available for regular sales. He would go well with my AWI armies. But alas as I'm in the states I can't attend the birthday bash...
Nice figure, do great as a general purpose general. remember to feature his wooden false teeth! :D
Lovely figure, which I would certainly want to be able to buy..
(Don't like limited editions generally - bit Evil Empire to my mind, usual YMMV though.)
I'd be in for one, if they are for sale.
An outstanding cast. Now to second mortgage our home to fly across the pond. I've just started 10mm ACW (first three test figures finished) and was eyeing AWI. Adding General Wasington to the catalog would be great. Oh and Happy Birthday, 20 years is amazing.
Duane
Add him to the catalogue, he is just too good to be enjoyed only by the privileged few! And commission a few more of these "personalities".
Happy Birthday!
Mollinary
It would be a shame not to include it in the catalog, after the amount of work Clib has put into it ! :'(
And here's George on his rather spiffing new plinth!
We'll be supplying both in the Bash goodie bags, and then folk have got the choice of painting him up properly to use in their AWI games, or stick him on the plinth and use him as the centrepiece in a village/town.

That's really rather spiffy !
Cheers - Phil.
Excellent! I really dig the plinth!
Cheers,
Kev
Please please add him to the catalogue for those of us too far away to come to the bash. I so want him for my Maurice AWI force.
Me too, cannot make bash as clashes with a family do, but do need him for my AWI force.
Cheers

Ich auch.
WOW! Just a fantastic figure. I'm jealous of the lucky ones that can make it. With out a doubt I would take one for my collection as well.

Still resisting... My TYW project comes first, after that my early WWII armies will be in for French, Polish and other reinforcements.
But the G.W. figure is superb!

Aart
We're definitely going to have to start an acronym thread.....
I think 90-95% of the forum members know 99-100% of the acronyms posted....Sad to say....
I don't !
Aaart....What is TYW ? (Two young women ?)...I know it'll be obvious when you tell me.
I know I won't be the only one who struggles from time to time.
Someone who knows as many as possible....start it off...Fill a whole page...
Leon...Make it a 'sticky' ! ;D.....Then I might not feel quite such a numpty....I'll be able to look it up ;)
Include EVERYTHING !!
Down to the 'bl**ding obvious'..... like ....
WW1 - World War 1
WW2 - World War 2
AWI - American War of Independence.
SCW - Spanish Civil War.....Etc, etc.
VBWs (Figure it out ! ;D) - Mr Confused. ;)
Thirty years war ;)
I'm a big fan of WOJE myself...

Leon,
As posted elsewhere, replace him with the Aztec in a tarleton and put him where he belongs....... In the catalogue! :D :d
Mollinary
PS. Come on guys, only 37 posts to go to the magic 50,000.
Very true...
Andy Mac has done us a fantastic painting guide for this figure, which can be downloaded here: http://www.pendraken.co.uk/FileBin/washington%20paintguide.pdf (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/FileBin/washington%20paintguide.pdf)

Me three! :D
Does this mean there's a likelihood of a black-market in George Washingtons? ;)
Yes, yes there will be...
I've got one. What you offering? ;D ;D ;D
Gavin, Ive mailed you :)
Tuppece-happney and a Curly-Wurly?
I can see it now: ."Please if anyone else has a spare...
I might offer more cash-but the Curly-Wurly is final!"
Saying that, I'd still love one of those figures one day!
If anyone wants to sell one, mail me and let's do a deal :)
Yes I'm after one as well.
Duane
What are you waiting for, Leon? Is this a marketing opportunity or what? :D
I am happy to sell mine - still in bliister - as I am very unlikely to have much use for it. Postage will be minimal - say £1.00 to cover packing as well as 1st class.
best offer by midnight Sunday gets it :)
I've got a few of the goodie bags left here, just need to decide what to do with them.

Just in case, it might be worth checking the postage at your local PO before sending. The cheapest I can send one of the goodie bags is just under £2, and that's 2nd class, as the George blister doesn't fit through the 'letter' slot.

Either offer them as prizes, or stick them on eBay then people will pay what they are willing to pay for them!
Thanks Leon - I was forgetting about what had happened to postage charges for awkward packets!
I will hold the postage charge at £1.00 - included in bid price - as I have just been made a very serious offer for the item!
