Title: Humber Light Recon Car
Post by: mijalo on 08 June 2012, 06:48:49 PM
Wonder if anyone else is interested in having a few of these early-war British vehicles?

One of these would be better as it would be useful for Recce units in 1944-45:

Humbers would be good. Early war, as said so I can use for VBCW.  ;)

I'd prefer the earl war version too, so I can use them for both VBCW and Defence of the UK actions.

Hardly worth arguing over which model to go for! The Mk II & III looked pretty much the same main difference was the latter was 4x4 rather than 4x2 drive. The minor differences probably would not show up in 10mm. The Mk I was only produced in very small numbers and it's the Mk II without turret. Don't think any LRC saw active service until Tunisia anyway. For early War (& VBCW) the Morris CS9 is perhaps a better option especially as it's already in the Pendraken catalogue. Definatley need the Humber LRC made though, pretty sure I and others have already requested/suggested it too.

Yep, it's already on the Request lists, and pretty high up as well.  I think it narrowly missed being on the list of 'Vehicles to be produced in 2012' which we've posted elsewhere.

Add my vote for these too please. Good for VBCW, pulp, and Sealion.

Cheers,

Were any produced before the likely Sealion dates?

No, but with VBCW a few liberties (well, more than a few) are allowed. My own reason for the request was for Sealion-period scenarios, again with a liking for the Humber LRC outbalancing historical accuracy.

Can't let a little detail like that get in the way of a decent bit of kit :D

Indeed. If they come to production, I may well have them supporting Wellesley across the Peninsula. :D

Can I once more suggest the Morris CS9, same spec in service from 1938 and already in the Pendraken catalogue.

I already have a unit of Morris CS9s. Nice as they are, I would also like some Humbers.

The Beaverette would be a better choice for VBCW and Sealion scenarios than the Humber LRC IMHO

Of course you can :D And I already have the CS9's, but variety is the spice of life!
