Title: smaller german states
Post by: ciaphas on 05 June 2012, 01:19:38 AM
thanks to your new Austrian line i have been looking at starting a 1809 danube  force with the austrians being done and almost completed i now need to look at oponents so with my general dislike of painting french it seems that minor german states are the option, so what states can the wurtemburgers cover? and what can the new french line cover except being french?

cheers

The Italians are a good bet - same cut and detail as the French infantry, but in white. And much of the Austrian campaigning took place in northern Italy. Likewise Neapolitans, though not very reliable. Westphalians also used French-style infantry uniforms, except for the guard cavalry. Later Saxons too.

Wurttembergers much more difficult due to the strange helmets they wore, and the double-breasted tunics.
