No mourning this morning here - sorry JS - I can't stop grinning  :D Great game - tension galore [think it took years off my life though...]

Spot the difference...[even if he is a Villa fan]

And I did enjoy Ashley's ending quote here - with a nod to German efficiency in penalty shoot-outs:
Interviewer:They said that Germans never lose on penalties.
Ashley Cole: They do now.

Right - off to recreate that Drogba header in the garden with my 5 yr-old  :)

David Cameron is a Villa fan?...Yet another reason never to vote conservative!

I was watching the final two episodes of the excellent Danish/Swedish "The Bridge". Much more entertaining than watching overpaid blokes kicking a pigs bladder around ;).

Was there a 'game' on?

Personally i don't find watching spoilt millionaires poncing about for 90 mins and then having a bit of a cry that much fun.

Presumably one team of spoilt millionaires did something significant?

As Cap'n Jack Sparrow says to the screen in POTC when Elizabeth 'burnt all the rum' to attract passing ships and a sail appeared on the horizon...

"There'll be no living with him now!"

Congrats CFC and congrats Nik ;)

Can we 'per-leeesesseeeee' get on with the cricket season now ;D

I once had a fuzzy picture whilst watching Chelsea on TV, I hit the screen to to clear it up and Drogba fell on the floor.

Yeah, but would you really not have him in your team given the choice?  :P

I doubt he'd qualify under Kolpak rules... and he's such a wuss he would hardly be likely to want to stand up to Jimmy Anderson flinging a ball down the track at 85mph ;D

Oh, sorry! Were talking about kissball and not a proper mans game :-q

I'm not sure if I would?  Obviously he'd be a lot better than anything Boro have got at the moment, but the fans would be on his back all day long with his tantrums and petulance.  I'm sure a few goals might swing it back in his favour, but it's always been the players with passion and graft who've become fan favourites up here.

And who said the art of witty repartee was dead?

I think you mean, "Chelsea Are the Champions of Europe - and the holders of the FA Cup"

But you've never been to a UEFA Cup Final like the mighty Boro...  :P

Er, didn't we win it back in the nineties? I seem to recall the little maestro got the only goal.

Don't think so Ray !
Or was it 1998 ?....You might be right !...Or was that the 'Super Cup' ?
So maybe not the UEFA Cup Final ??
But how did 'Boro do in the final Leon....Did they win ?....I forget.
Cheers - Phil.

It was a close run affair, and a valiant effort by the lads but unfortunately they lost 4-0, ahem..  cough...  :-[

Hiding the result in a smaller font simply suggests a bigger deficit/embarrassment than porr Leon is letting on... :'(

Bah, we tried!  We went 1-0 down, and then tried to attack too much.  The 4-0 was a bit of a harsh result, but that was the Sevilla team who finished 3rd in La Liga the following year I think.

And we never got half the credit that Fulham / Roy Hodgson did when they did the same thing a couple of years back.   >:(

:D

It was actually the UEFA Cup-Winners Cup, Phil, in 98. They beat Stuttgart 1-0 in Stockholm and then went on to beat Real Madrid in the Super Cup by the same score.  <:-P

I don't know much about Kissball (if I did would I admit to having supported Leeds for more years than is healthy), but isn't 3rd in La Liga like 3rd in the Ryman's League?

Considering the Europa Cup was an all-Spanish final this year, and they provided two of the four semi-finalists in the Champion's League - probably closer to the second division.  :D

Oh, and while we're at it I have to admit to being an IPL adict.  =P~
