Title: So, what scale is 10mm?
Post by: i_am_win on 15 May 2012, 06:47:15 PM
I was just wondering 10mm scale? is it 1:100 or near abouts? does anyone know as i have been looking at paper model modern buildings on the net (for hopefully some nice 10mm zombies and stuff)

All of our vehicles are done to 1:150th scale, so anything in the traditional 'N' scale is usually fine (1:148th - 1:160th, depending where you are in the world!)

cheers! I guess any 1;100 stuff i print out, I just scale down a tad (25%) then it should be in scale. Trial and error i suppose! :-\

Actually, I find many of them to be closer to 1:160, because Pithead stuff is 1:150.
And according to this one site, its actually 1:161.5 or something weird like that.
But anyways it's compatible with (I think) N scale, and some 1:144 tanks (Plus other 10mm manufacturers).

Please visit this site. http://theminiaturespage.com/ref/scales.html ;)

Hi,

This freebie might be of some use: http://www.wargamevault.com/product/93016/Paper-Modeling-Guide?manufacturers_id=2985&filters=0_0_0_0 (http://www.wargamevault.com/product/93016/Paper-Modeling-Guide?manufacturers_id=2985&filters=0_0_0_0)

Dave Graffam’s models are 30mm, but there's a conversion table on page 3 which lists a print size reduction for all the major mm and model railway scales.  You'll just need to work out the ratios to convert between other scales.

Meirion

Well, the fantasy zombies are pretty generic.  Glandalf just posted a nice picture in this thread: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,5189.0.html (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,5189.0.html)

To my mind they actually look a bit too t-shirt, jeans and leather jacket for "proper" fantasy zombies.   :-\  Republic of Tolworth even painted some up as rioters: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,3105.0.html (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,3105.0.html)  :o

The only problem is that they might be a tad taller than the historical figures.  However, you could either say they're a basketball team, or claim they've swollen a bit in the grave ;)

Cheers,

Meirion

Hi Meirion.

Just to reiterate....The new 'modern' zombies I've been having a go at are 'historical' sized chaps (made from the same dollies as the Republican Romans, the Carthaginians, the Falkland's troops and some new Sci-Fi stuff)...So will be a tad shorter than the fantasy ones....Hope that helps !
I've always assumed they're as close to dammit to 1/144th to 1/150th scale.?
Cheers - Phil

Evening Phil,

Yeah, I saw that about the size on your preview thread.  I was commenting on the old fantasy zombies.

So, conversely, your new zombies will have to be regarded as strangely dressed dwarves which the worms have had a really good go at when they go shuffling with their fantasy brethren  ;)

Cheers,

Meirion

PS Any chance of a zombie elephantid of indeterminate provenance?   :D
