Not sure if I am posting these pictures correctly, but I painted up some 19th century cavalry as Pontifical Dragoons. The figures were a kind gift from Pendraken forum member Cameronian. They are the first step in my Risorgimento project. The pictures can also be viewed at this link:

Very nice
Lovely job!
Very nice.
Can you tell us more about this unit / this conflict?
Very neatly done, particularly the standard. They're the Austrian cuirassier figures I assume? =D>
Not sure what figures they are, Cameronian sent me a pack of cavalry in helmet. These figures looked close enough in uniform to pass as the Pontifical Dragoons (although most appear to be without carbine). The Pontifical dragoons were part of the Pope's army during the Risorgimento. The Papal forces fought in many skirmishes as the Garibaldini and Piedmontese soldiers encroached onto the lands of the Pope...I plan to collect armies for the one major battle, Mentana...where a Franco-Papal army drove Garibaldi's army from the outskirts of Rome.
Nice!

Bellissimo lavoro.
Le basi sono per un regolamento particolare ?

Very nicely done and lovely bases
They are based on 30mmx25mm rectangles. Infantry will be on 30x15mm bases. I plan to collect the armies of the battle of Mentana (1867). I plan to use the rules in Neil Thomas' new book on wargaming 19th century Europe. In these rules, base size doesn't matter and most units are comprised of 4 bases. Because the Pontifical Dragoons were a small unit (2 squadrons), I will play them as a 2 base unit but I decided to make a third just for fun. Thank you all for the kind words. A special thank you to Cameronian for his generosity and assistance.
Very nice indeed 8)

Don't worry, caro. Wargamers almost always do terrible things to English, from the great Phil Barker down. At least you have an excuse!
It's amazing what's available that can be successfully painted up as something else. Excellent paint job.

Exactly DP. ;)
Just noticed these and your Pontifical Zouaves Street, brilliant painting and basing, you have real talent. BTW its good to see Austrian military surplus being put to good use!
Thanks Cam! Working on Chassuers a Pied and Legion d'Antibes units, both of which contain some of the figures that you so kindly donated.
Cannot think why I haven't commented on these before - they are superb! Well done sir, cannot wait to see more of your work!
