Title: Board size for BKC
Post by: Jerrylee on 11 April 2012, 06:33:14 PM
Hi all,
Thinking about doing BKC but I only have a playing area of 4'x4' , ideal for PBI and Abteilung rules, but is it too small for BKC, looking at bat reps and other places the games look massive !
Please help?

I either play on a 5x5 at home or a 6x4 at the club, fine unless your'll looking for 5000pt+ battles

We played recently on a 4x4 table, 10mm, 2000pts vs 1000pts and it fit perfectly well.

4'x4' tables work well for smaller battles, but 6'x4' tables give greater scope for manouevre and naturally bigger battles. 90% of my games take place on 6'x4' tables.

You would be fine with that, although you probably want to have a fair bit of terrain or avoid the late war really-long-range AT and tank destroyers.

Thanks guys, handy it not being any good for late war, just got myself a load of early war stuff:)

Early war you should be fine as the wearon ranges are often 30cm, 40cm, 50cm max.

Games heavy on infantry as opposed to tank battle would work well too
