Title: Help with German Platoons
Post by: Hurley on 24 April 2010, 04:37:58 PM
Guys I'm doing a North African German army for BKC, I'm not having much luck with what each platoon would normally have.

What's in my head is four bases of 5 riflemen miniatures for a 2:1 ratio. Would each squad have a Mg or SMG guy? Would the Germans work in fire teams of 5 if so should i use a 1:1 ratio?

Does anyone have a good site for orders of battle for different German armies?

I kinda want this to be as realistic as I can. If I can model what a full platoon would have then I will also I'll post pictures of what I've got done tomorrow.

Each section would have a belt fed MG.Probably by 1943 there would be two of these per section. Most other members of the section were there just to keep these weapons supplied.

Here is the site I use for WW2 TOEs for the major nationalities.  TOE down to squad level with weapons including time frames.   Very good site.
