Title: Question about Austrian Grenadier facings
Post by: sam scott on 26 March 2012, 01:36:15 PM
In the Napoleonic era, did the grenadier companies retain their original regimental facings when brigaded together into seperate grenadier battalions?  In other words, would there be several different facing colors within the same battalion?

Yes they carried the facings of their original regiments, i.e. three different regiments per Grenadier Battalion.
