Title: 18/19th century field works scenics
Post by: lentulus on 23 April 2010, 01:53:20 PM
PS29 Small square field battery, PS30 Two gun emplacement, PS 33 Star fort with outer ditch and PS34 Field works trench system all sound interesting in the context of my current project.  When you get a chance, could you provide pictures- preferably with a cm ruler or a cm grid background so I can evaluate size.

Basically, I need to know how the trenches will accommodate 30mm square infantry bases, and the gun emplacements and fort will manage with 30x40mm artillery bases.

Understand, sir, hardly a rush.  I hope Salute was profitable and good fun.  Some of these years I'll make a UK show...

I'll get some cast up and photo them for you this week.  There is a pic of a star fort in the Salute pictures I posted, should be in the first lot.  Unfortunately, I dropped it at the end of the show as we were packing away.   :-[

I'll try and get the PS29 - Square battery done at some point as well.

Thanks! How wide a base would that trench hold, and how wide is the 2-gun emplacement?

The trench sections would fit a 20mm base nicely, you could maybe get a 25mm base in with a bit of filing to smooth the inside edges.

This one is 44mm x 84mm total.  Each gun placement is about 22mm square.

Thanks!  A bit small for my needs, but I do appreciate your digging out the information for me.

Hi Leon,
I see that this is an older thread and was confused that you said the star fort is no longer with you. Is that one discontinued or is that specific fort no longer with you? I was thinking about ordering one that's why I ask. Thanks!

It was that specific star fort, which was painted up, and I managed to drop when we were packing away after the show!  They are still available on the website though: http://www.pendraken.co.uk/PS33-p5325/ (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/PS33-p5325/)

Leon,
I'm sorry for your loss  :D

That's great news though, I thought it might have been discontinued. It looks like a nice piece!

Thanks
