Post by: J.S. on 21 March 2012, 08:51:05 PM
Hi guys,

I'm having some truble deciding which book on Napoleon's Egypt campaign i should give a try  :-\
http://www.amazon.com/Napoleons-Egypt-Invading-Middle-East/dp/0230606032/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
http://www.amazon.com/Napoleon-Egypt-Paul-Strathern/dp/0553385240/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
http://www.amazon.com/Bonaparte-Egypt-J-Christopher-Herold/dp/1934757764/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Has anyone read one of the above? Or maybe another book on the topic? Any help is highly appreciated  :)

J S,

I aquired a copy of the Christopher Herold book about 45 years ago as a youth and it was the first book about military campaigning I ever read so is directly responsible for me becoming a wargamer. I have re-read it many times.

It is now one of my treasured books that I will never part with.

As a read it covers all aspects of the campaign and is anti Napoleon biased. All of the combats and campaigns are covered, most in minute detail.

Cheers, Rob  :)
