Hi,
I plan to run a ww2 10mm scenario involving some infantry units from HG fallschirm-panzer division (mid '44) and i was wondering wich kind of miniatures to use from pendraken range. I'm really messed up since i don't know very well the pendraken range and the Hg division had a quite unique assortment of equipment (in fact a bizarre mix of ss, luftwaffe and heer). Do you have any tip?
Thanx

In 10mm helmets / headgear is probably the most important to give the correct look, so I would start with the FJ figures, even though they are early war. Then mix in other figures as needed to give the right sort of mix. Right in this context is probably more about what looks good to you.
Hi,
i agree with you about the importance of helmets/headgear in 10mm. By the way, from the photos i've seen, Hg troops used very few para's helmets; i know they had some in Tunisia when the 5th para regiment was attached to HG and it's previous members mantained some of the para's equipments (including helmets) in the other theatres. Most of the photos represent Hg soldiers wearing the standard fritz helmet (often with cover) and field cap. Otherwise the HG used some para's weapons, such as FG42, and it would be cool to have it represented in miniatures. Anyway i'll follow your tip, using GR134-143 blisters, since ardennes paras should be more suited for my purpose. I'd like to know if other blisters (such as 122/123/124/165/198 exc) do represent some suited figures wearing also field caps and the zeltbahn camo overall.
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanx.

The Osprey Vangard shows no FJ helments. The troops wern't jump trained so there would be no need.

while the HG division was call a fallschirm-panzer division they were to all intents and purposes a panzer division and if i recall correctly were equiped as such so late war german figs and not fallschirmjager figures would be the best fit.

i await to be corrected
I'd thought I'd seen pictures of HG troops in para helmets but may be mis-remembering
I'd mix in some DAK to get field caps. The two standing figures in this stand are from the DAK command group.

The Ardennes figures are often well wrapped against the cold. Leon is generally quite good at selecting certain styles from packs, so if you want DAK in caps and long trousers, or Adennes paras not in great-coats then he may well be able to do this - but I think you will need to be specific rather than saying can I have some HG style figures.

122 is in greatcoat, so you'd be better off with GR177, 123, and GR14 without the ski's. You could also use the figures in cap from the Afrika Korp range as they're in boots.
Hi,
i'd like to know if blisters 177, 124, 14 have miniatures wearing zeltbahn too.
Thanx.
