Title: Yi Koreans anyone?
Post by: Uesugi Kenshin on 22 April 2010, 10:16:07 AM
These are the Koreans that emerged after ejecting the Mongols. With the help of the Ming Chinese they successfully defeated 2 invasions by the Japanese under Hideyoshi. So who else is with me on this one?  ;)

Obviously, once this full range (which includes Guard, regular army, militia, peasant guerrillas, fanatical Buddhist monks, and artillery!) is done, a full Ming Chinese range would be a natural follow up!

Entiirely agree that Koreans would be worth getting. Of course, the Chinese are far more important.

Choson Koreans are a subject I have a personal interest in. I'd be doing them right now if I had the time, but there's quite a few other things I have to complete or start that do have to take priority. I am hoping to get some done by the end of the year, but I can't make any promises at the moment.

Info on Koreans is pretty scant, but I have had a bit of correspondence with the Perries, and they may be able to help me out. Its been a while since we did so , so I'll have to repoen that channel.
Ming troops are a logical follow up, but getting reliable info is problematic as mentioned on another thread. I imagine a bit of research would uncover the necessary info, but I am not thinking about the Ming till the Koreans are done.

Koreans would be nice.  Looking for a reason to buy and paint a Samurai army.

Don't forget that the main raison d'etre for a Japanese army was to fight other Japanese armies. But they don't all have to be the same.

Looks like we'll be well taken care of when it comes to flags!
