Okay this isn't a request (just yet ;)):
Is there a suitable proxy for the 7.62cm IG used by the Sturmabteilung during WW1.
I have searched (hopefully) the forum including looking at the eye candy http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,2605.msg22189.html#msg22189 (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,2605.msg22189.html#msg22189)
I have considered using the Japanese 70mm IG from the WW2 range and add spoke wheels.
Is there anything more suitable ?
Si
I've a feeling that it was the Russian 76.2mm field gun which the Germans aquired in large numbers on the Eastern Front.
It is indeed the Putilov 76.2mm M13. Unfortunately no one makes one and it appears a lot smaller that the 76.2 in the Pendraken range which is the Putilov 76.2mm M02.
Sorry, I thought they were the same gun :-[
You may well be right. I have one reference book and some odd photos from the Landships site...Odd thing, if this was captured in large numbers then it should appear on some of the Russian TO&Es...but most sites seem to overlook it. I have no idea so it may be that a simple IG proxy is made by shortning the barrel?
Can someone (hopefully Nik ;))tell me which gun packs were used in this, as the spoked wheeled gun seems to be what I am after
