Hi guys, I'm really new with SYW period, I only know about Federick the Great so I would like making an order of some prussian, but I see 2 different army packs for prussians and I don't know which choose.
Another question is about a nice enemy army to play againts the prussians, I was thinking about Austrian or French army, but I'm not so sure. Austrians have 2 army packs as well as prussians, so again I don't know which would bes the best to begin with.
I intend to use these 2 armies with the rules Might & Reason at the begining and maybe another one later
Any advice that you can give me will be appreciated.

There were two flavors of Prussian line infantry. Musketeers wore tricornes, fusileers wore a casque that looked like a short grenadier mitre. Your finished Prussian army should have some of each, but I would start with a Tircorne army pack; it's the Prussian uniform most often shown in movies and illustrations.
Austrians also had two sorts of "line" infantry. Hungarian infantry wore trousers, "German" (everybody else) wore breaches and gaiters; there are other differences of course. I'd go with the non-Hungarian to start.

Thanks for the tips lentulus. Like you, I prefer the tricorne hat in the prussian army.
So maybe in the future I'll buy the other 2 packs for the Prussian and Austrian army to have some variety in both armies.
I need to look now some references to paint these guys. :)

Go for the Austrians or Russians if you want an opposing army which has a fair chance. The French army was in a decline between Saxe and Napoleon, and off-hand I can't think of one battle where they gave Fritz any trouble.
