Title: Plans for 2012?
Post by: Leon on 28 December 2011, 07:10:20 PM
So, we've got a few things scheduled at this end for the coming year, but what projects has everyone else got planned, 10mm or otherwise?

Heh, wargaming wise:

1) Finish something. Anything. Don't care what. Just finish something!  :)

More specifically:
2) Victorian Sci-Fi. Martian invasion of Earth. British expedition to Mars. Using Pendraken Colonial figures & Tripods. And maybe some others to shock the redcoats when they get to Mars ....
3) Aliens vs Colonial Marines. Vs Predators. Again using Pendraken.
4) Modular game board. Desgn based on the (very expensive) GW one, but using 1'x1' cork tiles. For 10mm & 6mm gaming. Made a start on this today.
5) I'd love to do some Cold War type stuff, but this will probably be in 6mm.

Those are the current plans. Of course, this time next week I'll have changed my mind completely ...

An early Happy New Year to everyone!

Cheers, Martyn

The following are on the "active" list, and in some sort of order of likely hood of stuff happening.

1) 28mm Anglo-Dane warband for Saga - this is a very new project, got a couple of boxes of plastic figures for Christmas, and have assembled 40 or so to make 6 units, even painted a few.

2) 10mm GW Warmaster High Elves, this seems to be a never ending army, I've got well over 5000 pts painted, and am currently rescuing half a dozen units I just bought basically painted off ebay. I also have several thousand more points of figures. In the ebay lot I got some Pendraken Elves, and do rather like these so may be getting some more of these.

3) 10mm Araby - this army only started this year and I have a good number of units painted, but only have a fraction of the total done. I have quite a few units base coated so really should get these painted.

4) 10mm Pendraken Late Era Romans - this army was bought early in 2011, and I have about 10 units painted so far. These are very nice figures, and have lots of detail both on the figures and in painting in the clothes and shields. This is going quite steadily as they currently lack an opponent. Though I may generate a Fantasy Hail Caesar list for them, perhaps adding some wolves/war dogs and a dragon (well they do have draco banners!)

5) 10mm Dogs of War - I have quite a lot of Pendraken Minatours base coated (to be used as Ogres) and have several bags of pikemen. So should get on with these as I have quite a lot of figures already painted for this army.

6) 10mm GW Empire - this army goes hand in hand with the Dogs of War, as several key units are shared. I need to get quite a lot of halberdiers painted, to make in WM legal.

7) 10mm Orcs - have loads of figures for this from various manufacturers, many base coated, but they don't see much progress.

8 ) 28mm War of the Roses - mainly Perry plastics with some assorted metals (even some 20 year old citadel ones!) not a lot of progress with these, but I recently assembled quite a few more figures.

9) 10mm WWII - probably my biggest collection, but has rather languished the last couple of years as Fantasy gaming has been to the fore. These should get some more table time.

Looking at that lot - I perhaps need a bit more focus. But in the last year I have got a lot of figures painted, as I have been playing games.

Planned to finish in 2012   :o

1) 10mm Anglo-Saxon WM Ancients army, 5 units done so far.

2) finalize the WW1 rules and then build boxed sets of WW1 starter armies for the rules built from Pendraken's awesome WW1 range of minis

3) build 5 more Wild West buildings from my 28mm Wild West class for this summer

4) pester Leon until the Aztec and their enemies are ready for production   :d

There are of course lots more but I was getting dizzy just thinking about all the work those 4 are going to cause me  :P

In no particular order:

- Start the Storm Clouds Gather campaign based around the AVBCW setting.
- Paint forces for the above.
- Operation Sealion in 10mm. I have the forces, I just need to base them, then paint them etc...
- Finish off my 2mm ECW forces and actually use them in a game.
- Ditto the above but with 3mm Western Desert forces.
- 15mm Force-on-Force figures to be painted, then gamed with.
- I would like to try out Rules of Engagement using 10mm figures.
- Assemble some FWC forces and actually try the rules out.

I'm sure there are more, but this is enough to be getting on with!

I intended to start painting my AWI armies, but now, with american cavalry still unavailable, and high chance, that it will never materialize, I'll rather postpone this project and will look something more promising.

Greetings

Generally to play more games.  In particular:

1.  Play with and add to initial SYW 10mm forces (having completed by 31 December - a few mounted officers to go before they are in playable condition).  The rules testing should start over the New Year.

2.  Paint and use 10mm 1940 Desert.  BKC2 and IABSM3.

3.  Progress, and hopefully finish, painting 15mm NW Europe British and Gurkhas.  Maybe some Germans too.  Play IABSM and BFWW2 with them.

4.  Paint some 28mm Romano-British and Saxons for Saga or TFL's potential rules.

5.  Maybe do some 10mm Napoleonic?

6.  Consider 10mm LoA for BLB2

7.  Paint some more 1/600 Battle of Britain planes and play.

8.  Paint some 1/1250 coastal forces and play a game.

9.  Other things I haven't thought of yet ...

Regards

Edward

Hi Edward

I'd be interested in your views of IABSM3 and 10mm .....I'm no longer on the TFL list - too much traffic too little time.
I have a lot of 15mm WW2 Desert - but I shall probably flog it off and move to 10mm
I see a limited amount of 28mm - mainly skirmish - no 15mm and loads of 10mm which is a scale I really like.

Best regards

Not many concrete plans so far

Finish Prussian 7YW army - only 2 regiments of cavalry to go but I might "need" some more infantry  :D

Buy and paint another regiment of French WW1 infantry.

Finally play 7YW games.

Sell 15mm Romans and Gauls and replace (maybe) with 10mm.

Get a not-Seven-Years-War campaign going.
Get the FPW project moving again.
Play more WWII.
get the 15mm SF playable
Rebase 15mm renaissance for Impetus

And just plain game more; I now have three quite playable armies and should be using them.

I need to finish early war French and Germans for IABSM.
Kick starting my FPW project using "to the last gaiter button", but based so I can also use them for 1870.

I will probably supplement my existing WWII figures as needed.

Whiteoak, as you can see I also use 10mm for IABSM. I really enjoy the rules - in fact, I just ran a game of US paras vs. Germans a few days ago. To me they provide a fun, challenging game.  They do require some planning to play as they don't have a point system. But since I only get to play about four times a year I have plenty of time to design scenarios.

I mostly run games at conventions with people who haven't played IABSM before. They pick the mechanics quickly but there's usually a tactics learning curve as they realize real world tactics work better than how they've played with other rules.

Shecky,

Seen your post on the Realistic Modelling site.  I think the answer is really up to you. The rules as written allow you to produce a Prussian Jager battalion with just 12 figures on 6 round bases, and a French one with 5 round bases.  As long as you keep the number of bases the same there shouldn't be a problem, but the different bases do allow you to see easily those units allowed to fire out of any face of a square, regardless of which side they are facing.  You could either discount this rule (no big problem) or find another marker. IN terms  of how many troops to use for a scenario, I'd start with a Corps a side, so about 20-36 battalions, 10-16 batteries, and a brigade of cavalry a side. If you like the rules as much as I do, you won' t be able to stop there!  Enjoy.

Thanks Mollinary. When I first heard about the rules a few years ago I dismissed them as I wasn't too keen on the idea of grid movement. However, I think I've come around on it. I've been looking for ways to game large battles that don't require a lot of time, bookkeeping or which are mentally taxing. Some rules are good at the divisional level but break down when scaled up. Other corp/army sized rules don't suit my tastes. I think TTLGB might be the right rules for me.

Current

10mm

FPW French.  Really need to get round to finishing these off (i always struggle to paint French forces - never seems much point).

28mm

AVBCW.  Finish off the bits and bobs i got over Xmas (T26b squadron, and suppot like supply and medical units.  then i should be done with the Chopwell Communists (fateful words!)

VSF.  Finish off my Martian forces to oppose the valiant British Empire builders!

'In the planning'

Well now that's an interesting one as i have a couple of 'half formed' plans boiling about in my noggin at the moment.

1.  Wierd World War II
Scale?  Not sure, but it'll be either 10mm or 28mm.  I have a start in both but haven't settled yet.  Nor on a set of rules.

2.  Star Wars
What i really want is a set of 10mm or 28mm Star Wars figures (or 'not-Star Wars' proxies).  In 10mm i'm looking at FwC for rules.  In 28mm i'm looking at a conversion of Legends of the Old West perhaps.  Problem there is figures again - especially the vast amount of different aliens i'd have to sort out.  But i like the idea of posses of Sith hunting down posses of Jedi in hiding after the clone wars...

3.  Malifaux
Hate the rules but the setting's a pretty good idea.  If it flies, this'll probably be in 28mm and will use the GW WFB terrain.

Other than that, i'm not sure what will take my fancy over the next few months...

Greetings

I've umpired/played a couple of games of IABSM3 in the last few weeks - one in 15mm and one in 20mm, so Ihaven't yet had live experience in 10mm.  The use of armour is smoother than before and so is likely to be better than previous iterations for more armour heavy engagements, albeit the table area will still be pretty small with the ground scale being 1 foot/30cm = about 80 yards = 1/240.

I'm aiming to experiment with Operation Compass in the coming year.

Complete my 10mm AWI armies - still a long way to go there, but I do finally know where I'm going, which helps.
Finish off some 15mm ECW which are loitering half nude on a shelf!
Finish off all incomplete 6mm projects, too many to count mainly Napoleonic bits and bobs
Try to fight a couple of campaigns:
ECW - Tinker Fox in 6mm or 15mm. Actually I'd like to use this mini campaign series as a means of pre-contact manoeuvre in a grander campaign system but I'll have to set some time aside to work out something suitable.
Medieval - King and Pretender 6mm
AWI Home and Colonial in 10mm...yea...
Do new 10mm project probably Colonial/WW1 East Africa  - it would be nice to see some pics of the ranges in the catalogue Leon, just in case you were looking for some additional new years resolutions  ;)
Make a lot of 6mm and 10mm scenery
Look for an opponent. Solo gaming is OK but solo campaigning doesn't work so well.

Puhh, quite a lot actually  :-X

6mm
-War of the Austrian Succession Anglo-Austrian Army (also known as the"Pragmatic Army")
10mm:
-completing my very modest sized Anglo-German AWI force (1 Hessian & 1 British brigade on 2x2 bases..should work for small games on the kitchen table; friend of mine 'll do the rebs)
-League of Augsburg  :-/ :-/ :-/
but I wont start painting up/buying any units untill it's at least clear that there's a realistic chance of seeing the range continiued in 2012.
-expanding my 1809 Austrians with the hopefully soon to be released cavalry  8)
15mm:
-War of the Spanish Succession Bavarian army.. friend of mine just wrote his graduate thesis on this topic (after a recommendation by me) and now I'm quite tempted to give it a try one the tabletop.
-small French Revolutionary Wars Skirmish using the old Battle Honors miniatures

plus all the spontaneous stuff.. i think i don't have to go into details on this one   ;D

Hey nikharwood can't wait to see some of those projects especially the WWI Middle East, Finns and the secret projects. I am always amazed at how quickly you get things painted and ready to game. Some really interesting stuff in everyone elses plans as well. I have been thinking about 1930's British Civil War in 10mm and would love to see more pictures and what people do with this project. May motivate me to get started.

As for myself trying to limit things this year. Would be happy if I get some of the following done in 10mm all in pendraken figures of course:

1) Austro-Prussian War
2) Russo-Japanese War
3) Start SCW

It will take some time but I will get stuff up on the blog when done:

Like many others I would just like to get any project finished, so with that in mind I think my projest list for the year will be

ACW then WW2 fallschirmjager, then whatever shiney new thing takes my fancy, but that still leaves ww2 early forces both german and austrailian, a half finished british napoleonic division, loads of half started ww2 allied projects, a ww1 project that is still unbuilt.  The reasonably new GNW project not yet fully purchased. Too many.

hope everyone had a great festive period and good luck in the new year.

In no particular order:-

1)  Organise my life better so that I can paint little and often rather than having to wait for holidays to blitz my lead pile.
2)  Finish converting and painting my Pendraken 10mm fantasy stuff.
3)  Start doing a bit more regular sculpting (got the bug after the 2011 competition).
4)  Finish off painting and selling off my 28mm fantasy and pulp stuff.
5)  Start painting the 15mm scifi stuff I bought last year. [I had vowed only to game in 10mm but Critical Mass Games and "5150 New Beginnings" caught me at a week moment].
6)  Make a bit more 10mm and 15mm scenery.
7)  Tinker with Warrior Heroes:: Armies & Adventures.
8)  Game a bit more.
9)  Try to keep the wife and children happy and feeling loved while attempting all of the above.

1. Plan and fight a fictional campaign in 1930s era Latin American war  as opposed to skirmish actions.

2. Conceptualise an 1870s FPW era Prisoner of Zenda scanario as a demo game   Painting almost finished. Thanks to speedy Pendraken delivery before Christmas.

3. Finish my terrain tiles, now scaled to 10mm 1/150 scale. in a genre that will allow a degree of interchange between scanarios 1 & 2.

4.  Part with hugh amounts of 15mm lead. (AK47 era modern)

6mm

Continue crafting my own Tyranids for Epic 40k and painting+basing them

10mm

Finish my Tomb Kings army for Warmaster (where nearly all of the infantry is Pendraken's)
Maybe starting Empire

28mm
Repaint my Witch Hunter Warband for Mordheim.

Maybe too much work, but my priority is 10mm, love the scale and the prices.

Plans for  2012 time allowing

Lots of 10 mm scenery
roads, rivers, hedges, walls, barb wire, tank traps, snake fencing, and a whole range of buildings, etc

And finally to start painting the many world war two, German and Russian Pendraken figures collected over several years

However, like a lot of people I have complicated matters by starting another project before im halfway through the first I couldn't resist Pendrakens ACW range, and now have six army packs to complete :o

Disaster on the 7YW front, I finished the cavalry off but when I put all 5 nice shiny regiments in the box I realised I'd miscounted my infantry...

I'm at least 6 battalions or Prussian short of what I need so it's Prussian Infantry time  :'(

Also wifey has said I can go to the Pendraken 20th Birthday bash so I need to design a WW1 game and make the scenery.

My plans this year will focus on three primary areas.

First, build a corps each of 1809 French and Austrians plus supplements for use with Le Feu Sacre.

Second, work on additional American Civil War units when the new figures come out.

Third, rebuild my American War of Independence armies.

Also want to keep experimenting with milliput, work on terrain and I am sure, a few spontaneous miniature projects.

Enough to stay busy....   :D

1 - Post something in the Pendraken forums instead of lurking (looks like Ive just completed that one)
2 - Sell off the mountain of 25mm lead - seriously there is tons of it!
3 - Use funds from 2 to buy oodles of 10mm Pendraken Napoleonics
4 - Paint 3
5 - Post Pictures of 4
6- most importantly - get some games in.

Wanted to do 10mm sci-fi (using Pendraken) but the ranges just aren't there unfortunately   :'(  ...even with the lovely new add-ons.

Just out of curiosity, what stuff were we missing that you wanted?

At least two full factions with lots of options.

Here's what we're doing;

'Warhammer 32000'

A game set during the GW Warhammer 40k 'Age of Apostasy' era, so we needed two full forces; the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Adeptus Ministorum.

DRM gave is the options we needed; various infantry, all manner of light and heavy vehicles, war walkers (up to Titans), air power, artillery, etc., etc.

Esentially if you had sci-fi ranges that matched your WWII ranges i'd definitely have gone for 10mm over 6mm.

Also, not to harp on but without photos on the website i couldn't make a judgement about the suitability of your sci-fi ranges.

If i'm dealing with a historical range, pictures or not i have some idea of what i'll get.  Sci-fi lacks that reference.

I'm hoping the recent new figures are a shape of greater things to come.  I'm looking at perhaps using your 10mm sci-fi figures for the 'Tomorrow's War' rules, but again it'll depend on what you have in the range...

Thanks for the info.  There will be photo's of all the Sci-Fi posted up when the range gets it's full revamp, and I'll have to see what other goodies I can muster up in the meantime.  The current Marines will be staying in the catalogue, so they could always be one faction, going against the newer sculpts?  Or use the Troopers as one side?

My plans for 2012 in no particular order..

1.  Order some Pendraken ECW.... Done.
2.  Save enough to get my Lambretta tinware painted..
3.  Rebuild above Lambretta
4.  Finish partition of garage to house my model railway ( N Gauge Steam )
5.  Set up my reef tank again after a break..Small one this time....not a priority really..
6.  Paint above ECW figures
7.  Paint 'other' figures that I sell for funds to pay for all of the above  :D
8.  Get my seeds ready for planting in my small home allotment...just run out of stuff from last year..yummy it all was too.
9.  Win the lottery so I can buy a mansion with a large wing for gaming, railway, etc etc
10.. Stop dreaming and get on with it... =)

It was a wreck so no nice piccies of it yet but I'll get one of the one I sold last year..That was very nice...

1.0 Finish painting lots of German panzers , then finish painting lots of French tanks.

2.0 Finish off French Infantry to go with above, Germans already done.

3.0 Double check 1st Panzer ORBAT make sure got everything, do same for French, then start on aircraft and defensive positions.

4.0 Co-ordinate and tie up loose ends will then be ready for Bovington 2013.

5.0 If gaps in schedule then attempt to start 15mm ACW, 28mm Impetus (WOTR).

6.0 Finish Space marines and put onto E-bay

But back to the topic, in 2012 I intend to sell enough painted figures to pay for a big chunk of my daughters wedding (going well so far). I would also like to get a sci-fi dungeon when this is available and I would hope to get myself a third BKC army, probably late war Brits.

Im going to sell off all my horrid 15mm scale Ancients stuff thats lain in boxes unpainted and unloved for many years. All bought to play Warhammer Ancients, and used, but I just cant stand 15mm figures for anything other than skirmish. Im also going ot ruthlessley sell all those half started projects that i spent a fortune on like my 28mm French Napoleonic army that in all honesty will never make it to the table.

Im half way through my Vietnam porject now, all the Americans are done other than choppers, most of the village building scenery is done, and the jungle terrain is 90% finished. Just need to make rice paddies, although struggling on how to make the banks/berms- maybe pollyfilla or clay?  Going to pick up the NVA and VC at Slaute and they wont take long.

The other project I plan on starting is a ECW force or two for Pike and Shotte in 10mm and possibly a SYW/Tricorn era force or two for Maurice which is a recent change of heart!

As I have posted before - finish my 28mm Napoleonics - (6 boxes of Perry/Victrix) and then into 10mm - starting with AVBCW/Sealion but fully intending/hoping to do several periods.

I am very determined not to buy anything until I am fully up to date with painting and modelling each period - its too frustrating to keep buying and not finishing anything.

I have all the 28mm terrain and buildings I will ever need - and will start on 10mm buildings/hedges/walls etc very soon:)

This week-end I will finish my 28mm Celts and Imperial Romans - around 36 units between them - having doggedly persevered with them since last Autumn - a relief to change period for the painting!

I love the look of 28mm Napoleonics but I am itching to get going on 10mm projects

Since we're updating...

My plans for 2012 were early war French and German for IABSM and even earlier French and Germans/Prussians for FPW.

I've completed a reinforced company each of the WWII variety - finally completing flocking the bases this past weekend. The one part of the hobby I hate is flocking the bases. I actually finished painting the figures over a month ago but I decided the mountain of unflocked bases wasn't going to get smaller so I finished over 100 bases this weekend.

For the FPW, I now have just over a division of troops completed for each side. I've decided to go with "To The Last Gaiter Button" as my rules of choice. I should have another batallion of Prussians completed just in time for the arrival of my latest Pendraken order next week. I plan to build about 4-5 divisions per side so this project should keep me busy for awhile.

Oh yes I totally agree, however I'm fairly sure my determination will give out sooner or later. :(

Must finish Baltic Crusades in 15mm and resist the temptation to go for a Prussian/Wendish army.

Ditto Endkrieg Germans and Russians - just some heavy weapon padding here and there and another unit of Volkssturm (possibly).

WotR more or less under control, just need to decide who's who and do the command figs.

Then, or in fact at the same time, get started on Pendraken 10mm Naps in the Peninsula. I fear that this project will grow from Brits and French to ecompass the Russians and Austrians since I've been very impressed by a lot of the eye-candy in this forum.  :D I also have a bit of a soft spot for the old KuK boys (represented by largish SYW army in 15mm).

Now to see if all or indeed any of these plans come to fruition.

Major changes for me for the rest of 2012. Having split from my long term partner (we got back together briefly to give it one last try... gave 100% in effort but alas, wasn`t to be) I have spent the last months recovering from the split, readjusting to life again... and moving from my home in County Kerry to a new home at Bantry Bay in West Cork; ultimately myself and my *uhuum* new female friend tentatively plan to move to England (Felixstowe) where we can do a lot of theatre, join game clubs, visit old castles, etc etc etc... I have now put about 95% of my life-long gaming material up in the attic and have limited myself to using 10mm loveliness only (no doubt the attic stuff will eventually be let go, if and when we DO move).

2012 sees me now finally able to devote time to my passion... Dungeon World in 10mm, and Sci-fi gaming in the same scale.

If the move to England comes off.... I can see myself taking up a completely new hobby era; probably a historical one in all honesty  :-\  I`ve spent years indulging in the fantasy aspect of the hobby; and as I find my hair taking on a less ` black look` and more of a misty look (first grey hairs) I think maybe its time to go a bit more... mature as old age creeps upon me (me mature  hahahahaa   ;D    =O).

Yes, 2012 promises to be an interesting year I think  :)  8)

My original list showing progress since Jan 2012

No comment means NIL PROGRESS :-X

6mm
Franco Prussian War â€" finish off last few bits and pieces
actually the last few bits were quite a few bits and this took a good month and a half to complete :o
ACW
WW2 landing Craft
Timecast Buildings - some progress, albeit painfully slow. Bases currently on order to start to make my existing terrain a bit more uniform and storage friendly.
Principles of War British and Zulu’s - shelved indefinately, relegated to the attic to be sold off at some stage!

10mm
Generic Medieval - made some progress here with a few units painted and based - still a load more based and undercoated still to do
Polish Renaissance
ECW Parliament and Royalist
Carolingian
Rus
Viking
Byzantine
French Naps - bases arrived recently - next project in the queue
Ayubid Egyptians - making painfully slow progress - hoping to finish by the end of May
Samurai
Welsh/Scottish WMA
Viet-minh and French REP - shelved for a quick paint job and onward sale when I can be motivated to get them to the table
Colonial British and Fuzzies - shelved for a quick paint job and onward sale when I can be motivated to get them to the table

28mm
SoTR Krauts and Demons - some progress but not a lot. Motivation lacking on this one because the rules they are played with are absolute S****

Things I didn't plan to do in 2012
28mm SAGA - Anglo -Saxon Warband done, Scots and Vikings now on painting table alongside 10mm Napoleonics
10mm Austrian Napoleonics - awaiting basing and next up on the painting table alongside the French
15mm AWI - had lots of this still kicking around from my Principles of War games which I am rebasing for Maurice. The pile includes at least a dozen new units which will make my Maurice Armies up to 100+points a piece with various options.

Things I didn't plan to do in 2012 that I will probabaly start in 2012 and still be planning to do the next time the Olympics comes to London ;D
LOA in 10mm for Maurice - but only when 15's are done and the range is complete
Falklands War in 10mm - this may well bump all other projects as a first interest when it lands!

Finish Austrian infantry brigade Kreysern (Fragnern brigade, Schindlocker cavalry brigade and Saxon division complete)

Contemplating adding a Bavarian division (Got a feeling the Confederation are going to need 'em)

Add more WW2 Japanese infantry (They do seem to get through them quickly!)

Next big project - Kursk (or at least, part of it)  8->

AMAZING news... for me anyway ^^. Just needed to share. The move to Bantry complete; my D&D room sorted, all my unused stuff in the attic, I suddenly had this sinking feeling as I thought for a while I`d accidentally put all my unpainted 10mm goodies in the attic, buried under a ton of other things... only to discover that the v-e-r-y last box I unwrapped (under everything else of course) contained all my shiny new packets of Pendraken loveliness.

So my projects for this year now include painting a complete Undead army with Vampire coach and retinue as my prize project (looking forward to that one). My beggar army, Trolls, Monsters, and various other bits and bobs. My sci-fi project arrived safe and sound and sits patiently in line for me to pick up from their initial undercoating... and I am now arranging my paints, brushes and various modelling assortments in position for the big push. Sadly, my 10mm English Civil War Royalist, Parliamentarian, and Scots Armies have gone missing, and I can only assume they got lost in the attic somewhere (noooooooooo).

Funny story, in brief: when the household contents were placed in the removal lorry, one of the very last things to get placed in the truck was all my 10mm things. I was not happy how the man had placed the big heavy box and told him so. He replied that it would be fine (famous last words). When we arrived, of course the box was upside down and as he picked it up… me almost in slow motion like in a movie, called Nooooooooooooo, but too late, he picked it up and....... the entire contents spilled out onto the floor of the lorry, some on the floor, some fell amongst other boxes, some fell into boxes and the noise of the rattling pieces seemed to go on and on forever in my head. Needless to say, I nearly cried. To make it worse, the man proceeded to step amongst the mass of metal (stamping many pieces underfoot) and began scooping the figures up in piles and CHUCKED them back into the (by now) upright box. Amazingly, there were hardly any breakages... a few figures bent flat on their bases, but all are fixable. EXCEPT for my lovely 10mm trees. These little buggers had taken me simply a-g-e-s to mount individually on their bases, and almost half of them now need re-fixing on their mounts.... uuuugh  that’s a day’s work to be sure grrrrrrr.

I get the feeling the removals man was not a wargamer :-(
