Post by: old smokie on 25 December 2011, 01:17:38 PM
can anyone tell me if the old Napoleonic range of figures is compatible with the new ranges being produced  :)

Merry Christmas to all :-bd

Size wise compatible, but to be honest Andy the new sculpts blow the old ones out of the water.

thanks Gordon, a merry xmas to you, real eager to get started in Napoleonics again and defiantly would prefer to use Pendraken figures, have looked at Magister Militum and old Glory.

Magister Militum are a tad expensive at £5.00 for 30 figures and Old Glorys bags are too large for my liking, I'll just have to crack the wip with Leon and Dave  ;D

As Gordon says, the older ones won't stand up to the newer sculpts, the older ones are more slight, and not as detailed.  Once we've got some Brits done, we'll be pulling the old Peninsular ranges out of the catalogue.

For a quick heads up Andy I'm doing Austrians, Mexican Dave was supposed to be doing the French but seems to have gotten side tracked into Franco Prussian territory. I just need to get some motivation to get my 10 battalions painted now.

French, Austrians and British are the first three to be done, after that we've not made any decisions yet.

French started this month so 16 bases so far

Will order a few more packs come payday. I got a nice storage box from Santa which I plan to fill with all the French.

Franco Prussian all based with 6 infantry, 3 cavalry and 3 guns per side. Will need expanded  :) at some time.  Justs need painted which is the stumbling block at present.
