One for the guys at Home HQ. Which periods sell the most figures, as in most popular? give a batting order if you can.
Also to which countries do you guys sell the most figures, again in batting order.
I know by just watching the forum weve got guys from alles uber the world, Yanks, Canadians, Frenchies, Belgians, Cheeseheads, just wondering how popular wargamming is in the outside world of the UK. Why? I dont know! just interested.
Cheers Bri
My guess would be WW2, Naps and ACW?
The biggest ranges by sales is tricky, cos things come in/out of fashion quite regularly. The biggest seller is by far WWII, but when you think that we've got about 550 products in there out of 2800 total, it makes sense. After that it's hard to tell. We don't keep individual item sales stats, although the new website might have that abiity. You've got the regulars like SYW/ACW/ECW, then people are also buying a lot of the newer ranges like the AWI/FPW, so it's a mixed bag really, and a hard question to answer.
Now for global orders stats, I keep tabs on everything!
Over the last 6 months - we've sent orders to:
UK - 69%
North America - 8%
Europe - 19%
Aus/NZ - 4%
ROW - 0.002%!
I love stats! Me and Microsoft Excel should get a room really. :P
"I love stats!"
There are lies, damn lies and statistics ;).
QuoteMe and Microsoft Excel should get a room really.
Love it - all the talk on this forum about nude body-painting, beach volleyball, and Aussie hotties - and you want to get a room with Excel :o
Wargamers have to be the geekest of the geek :P ;D 8)

He doesn't really. He just says that to get it into bed.
Haha! I just like a nice line graph, there's nothing wrong with that! Now if there were TWO line graphs, mmmmmm....
:P
Leon,
I have to ask, is your global order stats volume or value?

Just noticed this old one laying around, and thought it would be interesting to see how sales trends have gone over the past couple of years.
2010, by volume:UK - 65%
North America - 10.5%
Europe - 19.7%
Aus/NZ - 4%
ROW - 0.8%
2011, by volume:UK - 67%
North America - 8.5%
Europe - 18.6%
Aus/NZ - 4.5%
ROW - 1.5%
Not much change, but it is good to see more RoW orders coming in, the recent surge has been over to Argentina, which is nice!

Falklands range?
:D ;D We might get even more when it gets released... :D
I actually chatted with one of the Argentinian customers, and he said that wargaming is pretty popular over there, with a growing economy and more disposable income, it's looking good. One of the main clubs in Buenos Aires is getting into 10mm, so that's even better for us!

Practice ahead of a second invasion perhaps?
If thats the case can we have a Type 45 Destroyer and a Sea King added to the requests list please?
:o
Rename it the Malvinas range
I'm interested to see whether the Falkland's range gets any interest from Argentinian customers actually. When we released the WWII Pacific stuff, we got a couple of orders from Japan in the first couple of weeks, and then a few more since. It's curious how personal connection to a conflict can result in differing opinions on gaming it.

You've got some competition. I'm in Thailand.
Glad to hear that, unfortunately, I think it will still be difficult to meet to play, I live in Changchun, not far from North Korea and Vladivostok.

Hope they aren't using the Kriegspiel rules.... ;D
That said, perhaps if they want to kick off again we should suggest we fight it out over the wargames table (in 10mm of course) rather than all that rather unpleasant and costly actual fighting business?

Expecting rational, sane, civilised behaviour from the human race?
