Title: Website now live!
Post by: Leon on 12 November 2011, 08:05:13 PM
The Minibits website is now online!

www.minibits.net (http://www.minibits.net)

The Shopping Basket and Checkout aren't up and running yet, and there are a few layout changes which Matt is sorting for me, but please have a look and let me know what you think!

You'll see it's marked "Registration disabled" Ian - that might give you a clue that this is in-progress  :P

Yeah, the Login/Registration hasn't been activated yet, we're waiting on the Shopping Basket to go live.

Quick question, does the layout look a little wonky for anyone else?  The 'Info' box should be to the right of the 'Top Stories', but on my home laptop, using Firefox, it jumps below instead?

Nice looking site Leon, bright and easy to navigate. You might want to think about embedding a page link behind each of the top graphics so you could for example click on the picture of the paints to go to the paints page rather than have to navigate through the main menu. Recent experience would suggest that I'm not particularly efficient when it comes to navigation  :-[

I'll be launching with a full set of photo's on this site, I've just not had time to add them all yet, and there are a couple of items still to be done.

I've just added all the Game Colour products, along with finishing off the dice categories.  I've also added a load of pics to the 'Basing Materials' section here: http://www.minibits.net/Basing-Materials-c10/ (http://www.minibits.net/Basing-Materials-c10/)

Can I echo the point about photos. It's slightly disconcerting to click on a side-bar navigation item and be confronted with what at first sight seems to be a blank page. I know there's a bar-menu at the top, but it dosn't register immediately with dullards like me. I assume you will be looking at this in due course?

Otherwise a bright and informative site.  :-bd

I'm still at the fine-tuning stage, before we go fully live, so I've got to add a load of photo's yet.  I did a lot of the D6 dice this morning, with a couple left to do.  Then it'll be the bases and polyhedral dice.  After that I'll need to sort a bit of promo material, and then we're good to go!

Definite improvement on the item list pages. Much easier to spot the menus.  :)
