Title: Sci fi Tripods
Post by: nikharwood on 06 November 2011, 08:49:43 AM
These are really funky models - and paint up really nicely [& fast!]; the large tripods are on 80mm x 80mm bases, small tripods & crab walkers on 50mm x 50mm - I've left off the crab arms from the crab walker models...

Great stuff!  :D
Was it a deliberate decision not to pain their feet?  :-\

I think so [he says decisively] - I just thought they looked a bit more spiky / menacing...they're quite cartoony as-is and I wanted to shift away from that, so did this - it gives an impression that there are feet, but that the tripods themselves are so huge that their steps sink into the loose top-sand...I've got (in my mind at least) the sense that they're spraying out sand behind them as they walk...and sinking a bit when they stop to fire...
