Um, Leon.. if you look at the pictures that come with the German WWII heavy machine gun MG42 (http://www.pendraken.co.uk/GR4-p4279/), does anything odd strike you?  :-\

Must be the late war, large chamber, AT version.  I can see Hitler ordering a 75mm MG.  Really.
